Please reconsider Ranked matchmaking in South America
Hello EA/Respawn team
I would like to report an issue with the current Ranked matchmaking experience on the South American/Brazilian servers.
After the recent matchmaking changes, players in high ranks, especially Diamond, Master and Predator, are having extreme difficulty finding Ranked matches on Brazilian servers.
The problem is not simply queue time. The current system appears to expand the matchmaking/search region instead of maintaining a reasonable queue for the local South American player population. As a result, high-rank players can spend a very long time searching for a match or be placed into matches outside the Brazilian/South American region, with significantly higher ping.
This is particularly problematic for competitive players. A high-rank player may prefer to wait longer for a proper Brazilian/South American lobby rather than immediately have the matchmaking system expand the search and create an experience with high latency or an unsuitable player pool.
I understand that Respawn has to balance queue times, matchmaking quality and regional population. However, I would like to ask the team to reconsider the current parameters for high-rank Ranked matchmaking in South America.
Possible solutions could include:
* Returning to the previous matchmaking parameters for high-rank players;
* Allowing a longer search window before expanding the matchmaking region;
* Giving South American high-rank players more priority to remain on São Paulo/Brazilian servers;
* Reviewing the minimum population required to maintain a high-rank Ranked queue in South America;
* Publishing more information about how the current system handles high-rank players in the South American region.
There are players in Brazil and other South American countries who want to
