The thing is, would it be worth spending development time on a PVE mode?
I think if they throw some decent dev time on it they could make a decent game mode however this will slowdown development on other projects that are currently working on.
I don't think it will be because of Activision Blizzard canceling it, even better Respawn could show they can do it because they have the resources and the passion for the game.
The big question is just, is it worth it?- Kyldenar3 years agoSeasoned Ace

Overwatch 2 pulled their plans, so Overwatch 2 basically told all casuals to toss off.
Apex could try and pick up that market segment. They put in all this lore, but we never get to PLAY the lore, just read it.
Even if it was just 2-3 hours of PvE cooperative content story per season, it would be 2-3 more hours of play out of me than they are getting now.

Would you want something like the overwatch archives in the game or something like the canceled PVE of overwatch with upgrades and all?
If it were small missions I can see them do this, however a really big PVE mode is a bit much to implement- reconzero3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Kyldenar
I keep hoping that Respawn will follow the extraction-br formula for the next big overhaul of the game. I keep reading how Tarkov and and the extraction mode in Call of Duty are The Next Evolution of battle royale, and I hope they're right. I hope Respawn thinks so too. It wouldn't eliminate PvP entirely, but there would be a lot less of it, maybe none for people who play the way I do. I'd certainly be willing to give it a go. - Kyldenar3 years agoSeasoned Ace@reconzero Never played extraction type game, but would be willing to give it a try.

@reconzero Honestly, if were talking warzone extraction we already have it minus objectives and having the ring ... Stormpoint "being stuck with noobs relentlessly killing ai, then getting slaughtered by other players and ofcourse the big map". It's also missing separate extract spots but you get the point.
- @reconzero It feels like I've been hearing about how extraction modes were going to be the next big thing for 15 years, even before BR became big.

The map may be big, but 60 kids is still 60 kids. I could do with less, especially if there was something else to do. Like an objective. And multiple extraction points which might allow me to avoid other players entirely. I would love that.
@hayhor
I did not know that!? I only heard of them with the advent of Tarkov, and then from a co-worker who was telling me all about Warzone DMZ. It sounded like the perfect game. Minus the "Call of Duty" part. - @reconzero Yeah I think BF 2042s big mode was supposed to be extraction based too.
