I hit a wall in Plat when ranked launched in S2 because of a clear lack of mechanical skill. My team was of no match against enemies, we would get wiped out instantly. I only played Pubs mostly after that.
I didn't touch Plat ranked up until S5, bear in mind that I already had 1500 hrs by that time(slow progress on my part as a new fps player). Just think about it even if you get better twice as fast as me, skill difference for Gold and Plat lobby is still 500 hrs plus(easy 2 seasons).
I have hit Diamond 4 times as a solo now I think, but I have never played in actual Diamond lobbies because I know there is a skill wall waiting for me. Well maybe total 5 games in which I died to blatant aimbot.
TL;DR- if you are stuck in Plat IV for two week it's time to GIT GUD in pubs.

Started playing Apex after ~15-year break from FPS in March 2021, joined in the last split of season 7, did not know about ranked.
Season 8 hit P4 and P3 accordingly - playing with randoms and still learning the game.
Season 9 hit P2 still playing with randoms, in the second split found one guy whom we played with together daily with 3rd person being random - hit D4 somewhat easy.
Season 10 my dude had school started and could not play, we split, still hit D4 in both splits again playing with randoms, this time mostly from the Discord channel.
Never saw Gold being a problem, Platinum - only during first splits when there are a lot of ex diamonds, Diamond - have the same feeling that it is where the hacker paradise is, playing there with randoms is just a waste of time unless somehow your brain, mechanics improve from mostly solo-fighting everyone.

like I played only second split in season 5 and got plat 4
season 4 I played like 16 games
season 3 I played like 34 games
season 6 37 games
season 7 13 games
Season 8 214 games
S9 8 games
- And this season 340 games
you probably played like 100 to 200 minimum games from season 7
You easily have over 1000 games over those 3 seasons
you can't just compare me to you
If I played as much as you I'd be surprised if I wasn't in Diamond or higher
- @damsonwhufndthis Yeah if I play I play seriously and a lot, based on the stats I play ~1500 games per split in ranked.
In season 7 I played 30 public games - damn felt much more than that, yet again in season 8 ranked I went straight to 1800 games per season.
In any case I am not comparing sizes here just saying that it was doable for me out of the gate and I guess in your case given your stats I would say that you can't say that something is not "doable" as you barely play the game :D basically rephrasing would be not to say that Gold / Plat is hard but hitting Plat while playing 100-300 games is hard. I agree that would require a very efficient rank-up and very high win or at least max KP game percentage which in my case is just ~3%.@Eshshshsswell in season 5 I did get Plat in under 300 games,
But in season 10, already played 280 games in ranked and I am still in Gold 4.
And it isn't because I got worse or "players got better" I play bunch of different games over the course of year, I never have experienced in League of Legends that players would get better, in fact I think they get worse each season because they play stronger champions.
And how do I know in Apex despite dying all the time? Simple, death recap > look at badges/trackers, what do I see? 54164168 kills, or a Diamond badge.
Plat and Diamond is like night and day,
In Gold you can get a kill/assist or 2, and get like top 5-3 and you get rank points, and you can do that until you reach plat.
In Plat if you do the same thing, you still lose points I believe.
