  • @rockyboy1998  It definitely needs a nerf bud, I love the thing but it's stats are bonkers lol.

There's hasn't been a weapon released that's this ridiculously strong since the release of the charge rifle...that thing was a WMD originally. 😛

@rockyboy1998 Even backoffmyjankz just posted a video of it and said the bow is completely broken. Jankz is probably the most realistic streamer we have never overreacting to buffs or nerds. If he said it is broken it is.

    @MandatoryIDtag @hayhor

Sorry, I posted that message in a rush and should have added some more context to it.

Basically, the bow is a heavy hitter right? It's a new style weapon, the same way in which when Horizon entered the games she came into it with a completely new kit and the main strength being the gravity lift.

People complained that she was overpowered (which she was) but now, she's been completely nerfed into the ground.

So what does this have in common with the bow?

I think the dev's need to be careful here, because if they make too drastic changes to the bow it will become pointless. Don't get me wrong, its very strong but I know lots of people who struggle to use it. I'm yet to be hit fatal with it (I'm sure I will be) but I just have no idea how they can make it weaker without killing it?

I have had a few thoughts...
    - Cap the ammo maybe?
    - Charge up time to full could be longer?
    - Maybe add a timer once a fully charged shot has been fired?

Or alternatively they could just put it into the care package, take the triple take out? I don't know...
  • @rockyboy1998  For me personally there are 3 fundamental issues that make this thing so unbalanced.

    1) Base damage/firerate ratio.  In terms of balancing these stats there's always been 2 fundamental rules in most shooters.

    High firerate=low damage per shot

Low firerate= High damage per shot.

This things running both High damage/High firerate due to the hop up it launched with.

2)drawtime. The drawtime is fast...like really fast. You tie this in with the fact it doesn't reload (I mean duh? It's a bow) then you have a constant beam of arrows essentially.

    3) arrow velocity. So this is another biggy, I've not seen any solid stats released on the bow but from using it I'd say the velocity is way too high, on par with most snipers.

In summary, It's basically a stronger version of the triple take......which they've care packaged in acknowledgement of its strength.

@MandatoryIDtag Yeah, after playing some more games I think it needs to be looked it.

They can either keep it the way it is and stick it into a care package or they need to fix something with it.

I think all your points are very valid. Defo a great summary!
