- @XxColdFangxX Well PUBG mobile had an 8 billion dollar profit so that explains a lot.
- @Cheese9Man ah, so it's all about the cash.
- @XxColdFangxX Of course it’s always about the cash.
- BigMacAttack8u3 years agoSeasoned Ace@XxColdFangxX While it is about the cash, apex mobile will not survive without main apex at this point in its development. Theory: apex mobile acts as two things, a money maker and a testing ground for main apex. Most mobile players would play on a controller, much like most of the main apex player base. So mobile can also serve as a testing ground for main apex. As regular apex is on an old engine, and creating new things on it is more expensive, they’ve created a mini mobile testing ground, and also monetized it so they can have more bang for their buck. Comparing apex mobile to PUBG mobile is not quite the best comparison, as the mobile market is big, PUBG mobile has been around for longer than regular apex has, so having specifically those numbers in mind would be a bit crazy for the devs in mobile. Clash of clans has been around for ten years, and hasn’t reached those profits. So in conclusion, apex mobile is just a monetized testing ground.
- @BigMacAttack8u If pubg made 8 billion on mobile, it proves apex mobile does not need regular apex. Unfortunately the current generation loves mobile games.
- BigMacAttack8u3 years agoSeasoned Ace@hayhor Apex mobile needs the main apex player base and streamers to recommend it and help it expand, if apex mobile just started, exactly as it is, with no original apex, it would die very quickly, as apex mobile relied heavily on the lore and familiarity of the legends to carry the mobile version to success. Also please stop using PUBG mobile as a comparison, it is not accurate, PUBG also has a console version that came before, but the mobile PUBG has been around for four years, longer than the main apex has been around.

While I hope you are correct about mobile being a testing ground because that means what they bring to mobile they may eventually bring to console and pc, I just don't see the mobile version of the game needing the main game to survive. There's quite a few mobile shooters out there based off games we know and love, pubg, cod, apex now just to name a couple, but there's also stand alone shooters with their own lore and stories doing just fine.
It might include the legends and lore of the og apex, but mobile game play is very different from what you'd find on pc or console.
Me personally, I don't play mobile shooter games like apex, for a couple of reasons. One being I don't have a controller, so movement is clunky. Another being the space these kinds of games take up. Last being, I just don't play games on my phone very much.
Imo mobile survival is going to depend mostly on player preference and what kind of updates they bring to it in the future. If the mobile version starts having as much matchmaking issues as the og apex, I don't see it lasting long at all.
