Re: Disappointing Loba Skins?

@Saidi1988 I can understand that. If it’s some consolation, she has a (semi)visible wolf tattoo near her right shoulder.

I like her golden outfit tho. She looks so sparkly and dapper (dunno the female variation of that word).

For Rev, he has outfits resembling his attitude with the god Ra which goes over life & death and a pagan god... which goes over the same. So it’s not an easy grim reaper, but there has been some thinking going on with those ones.

I am aware of that. Watched the trailers a couple of times haha! I like that skin as well. Also the Bootlegger is kinda nice. The weirdest thing is that her original skin has like gold wolf symbols on it but her legendaries don’t. Hopefully when an event based around her comes out they can come up with a wolf skin of some sorts!

What do you think about the Level 100/110 wingman skins this season? I think they are dope as f***! Glad to see the skullpiercer making a return.

  •  @Koochi-Q  Revenants goat skin is actually a reference to baphomet i think, which is a demon. Further enforced by the fact he's referred to as "Demonio" by loba

I think you're spot on with the second set of references though.

Although i originally leaned towards it being based on Horus, who although was originally deemed a sky god, was also considered a god of war/ a hunters god.....which i thought tied in with his assassin lifestyle, as he literally hunts targets.

@MandatoryIDtag So I did a quick search to who this demon was, cause I was quite sure that his skin was from a pagan deity (I’d seen such features before. I’m not into occultism but I like lore and such so in the past I’ve looked up some things). So I saw the demon and was like ‘wait, thats the pagan deity I was talking about’. So I googled ‘pagan deity’ and what do you know. Same creature pops up with the text ‘pagan deity Baphomet’.

So either we both right, but you refer to him by name so maybe he’s tied to the pagan believe. But you mentioned by name which makes a stronger case.

@Saidi1988 ha, not noticed that. But makes sense seeing her jacket or whatever covers it up. Maybe she has a wolf somewhere on her apparel. I want to see a wolfskin too. Here’s to hoping.

Well I’m not a wingman person... or a skin person but I have to agree that these 2 look nice as money in my bank account. The sad part is, there’s already a wingman skin that looks similar to these... which I have XD. So thats sad. Now everyone will have this 1890’s electric looking gun, but a more upgraded version of the legendary that’s already in the game.
  • @Koochi-Q  The problem with the term "pagan deity" is that it literally refers to any of the gods of the old religions. You can include anything from egyptian to norse in this terminology.

Baphomet  is supposedly a phrase used by medieval turks to describe muhammed or the profit back during the first crusades, the templar were later branded heretics under the guise of worshipping "baphomet". Baphomet was then bastardised and incorporated into Occult ritualism notedly by allistar crowley...which is where the whole demon reference and the image of baphomet as we see him today arose from.

So short answer, it's a demon...long answer, it isn't. History lesson complete hehe.

(Sorry i get nerdy when it comes to history 😛)

@MandatoryIDtag Wow first of all I read my prev comment and towards the end I said the same thing twice while trying to correct a sentence XD. 2nd that’s exactly why I used that term, so I know I’m right at least in the slightest. I hardly ever did full research on demon side of things so I dont know anything about specific ones, just the general stuff as I believe in stuff like that and don’t want to draw them close to me by thinking about them or researching them.

But when I did the name I saw the info you listed so it all checks out you nerd! Now I’ll call you Nerd ID xD. Don’t worry, I sorta like some histories too. Mostly greek mythology tho :P so I can nerd out a bit with you, but most info searching I did was more than a decade ago :P
  • @Koochi-Q  Haha, I had a particular interest in both classical and medieval history, specifically templar history as a teen. Any serious study of the templar history takes you down some weird esoteric routes eventually and you end up running into some of the occultism stuff. I'm not one of these weird demon obsessed occultists don't worry. ;p

But yeah, basically the revenant skin is based off the modern conception of baphomet. So we're both right. ;p
