- HappyHourSumwur2 years agoSeasoned Ace@hayhor Thanks for saying. I've always wondered if spending money on the game made any difference in matchmaking.
I have spent very little on Apex and will not spend more until they fix the fundamental issues (i.e.-matchmaking). I get the impression I'm not as good as you but I have the same solo queue experience . . . my teammates are worse than me 90% of the time (and that is saying something, TBH) & my enemies are better than me 95% of the time. - ComicBookGuy27272 years agoSeasoned Ace
You mean like Overwatch 2 ??
😉
@ComicBookGuy2727
Lost my hope in that game since I got into Platinum and coudlnt get highr because of wall of blatant cheaters Blizzard doenst care about.This was happening to me last 3 seasons...
I play OW2 I just troll with Mei or something... Its a troll game.
@hayhor @Thousands?? We're talking usd here right? That's a crazy amount of money to spend on any game dude.
Question, if you've spent that much wouldn't you rather not be able to tell if it influences your lobbies? Wouldn't you just think that whatever you experience is "normal" vs someone who never spent a dime and is struggling and we maybe just think he's bad at the game?
I'm not saying it's happening, but it makes sense that a company wants to keep someone like you around. I said before that I've seen guys with pretty bad aim score some easy wins regularly. Seems backwards that they do as well as they do. I'm punished for missing shots yet they flourish?
- @blackeyeriver Yes usd. The games been out 4.5 years. It's a hobby I play a lot and enjoy and I have the income to cover the spend. I'm quite sure you spend money on things I wouldn't understand.
As I said I have plenty of friends who spend who have the exact same experience. I also have friends that won't spend anything and they have the exact same experience with MM. The people that claim the game adjusts things based on this or that are people searching for reasons why they cannot get better. @hayhor @@I watched podcast some months ago and one of the hosts was telling a story about being in the same team in a video game with a well known developer who at the time was working for one of the big names. The were discussing p2w. The game he was working on was p2w and everyone knows it and he stated they do whatever it takes to make the big spenders not lose a pvp match. We're talking people who drop upwards of 30k on a game here.
Apparently Destiny has the ability to throttle a player's in game performance and this was actually revealed in one of their TWABS many months ago. It was their suggestion for how they would handle cheating via hardware instead of banning players. This was eye opening to me and a little concerning that they have that kind of power over someone's account.
Now seeing how the world works and when you put 2 and 2 together...you can see how easily something like this can be done for reasons. I'm not making any claims and I haven't experienced it yet(how would I even know?) , since I don't spend much on cosmetics but it's interesting at least. And I actually won't hold it past anyone in this day and age. I'll take you at your word though, and that Pathfinder dude axs something pretty much said the same as you so I guess that's that then.
- @blackeyeriver I cannot comment on Destiny other than I gave it 2 hours and was bored to death. Can what you describe be a thing? Sure why not, it's just programming. But with the amount I've spent I'd expect a lot better outcomes if it worked like that.
@hayhor @It's certainly not for everyone, the real fun is doing the dungeons with friends. It's a nice change of pace from the usual. But just to clarify the p2w stuff was from a totally different game, I just mentioned Destiny as an example since they stated publicly that they can influence someone's experience. If they can anyone can.
