Re: Hacker Fight Counter - Suggestion

Personally I believe cheaters should only be actioned if it's almost completely sure that they are cheating.

A system that relies on mass reports has a major flaw, it only takes the amount of reports in consideration.

Players could just report because they're mad that they got killed by someone, or someone could be mass reported due to them being a streamer or another important figure.

I know some games have incorporated systems that auto-ban players when they reach a certain threshold, but this has resulted in major backlash from communities where this was applied, causing a really high % of false bans.

A punishment like this would make it pretty much impossible for a player to play the game, as they would be targeted by a large chunk of players in the lobby and their position will always be revealed, not even a pro player can 1v40.

So overall a system that uses an amount of reports is going to have some issues, though I personally think it's best to not resort to these types of punishments.

If they aren't cheating then these kinds of punishments would make it really frustrating to play, which could hurt the playerbase in many ways.

I think it's best to leave it at just banning cheaters when they have been detected, I myself have never really seen any good from systems that use a report count to give a punishment out.

  • @XHelperZ that why it should make it more report to be active the indicator one, maybe around 10-15 report make it look much better atleat it should be 3-5 team full report. it will be more obvious to be track. the band is still band, but the accurate headshot to wipe 4-7 team is obvious a hacker.just to mark them on the map the be carefull.

i have look lot of hacker aimbot/waller the account is with the heirloom and have a skin. which mean he/she have been use this hacking system long time ago, but still not get banned.

Overwatch is currently experiencing a problem with auto-bans from mass reports.  Lots of legitimate players are being banned, even OWL players lol.

@pandareno1999 Exactly. People report others for spite or because they think they are so good the other player has to be cheating.

@pandareno1999 i mean it not a ban, but it the indicator. which mean in game if he get report for 10-13 report in same game the red indicator will blink in the map which mean that is the player that have reported in that game for 10-13 report. which mean player in that game will play carefully on area that player have been report in that game
