Re: How do people leave the jump ship so early?

@Geryth  I can't say I've noticed this, and I seem to usually land at the same time or slightly before my rivals. However it might have been happening without me noticing, I can't say I've looked much for early droppers. If anyone has a clip of this happening that would help a lot.

If @HenxFTW is right (and it sounds like the most likely case) then that's something to look into a bit more closely. Do you have a lot of lagyourself, or a generally solid connection?

Thanks.

  • I have noticed this too, I think it happends when alot of people jumps at the same time.

Should make 2 dropships and make so the first 2-3 second when releaseing from droppship you are able to go thru other players 🙂

I would love to get a clip but for some reason any video I record with OBS is waaay too laggy with Apex Legends (it's weird, my rig isn't the best but it certainly isn't a potato and I have no problems recording other games like Overwatch). But I'll give it a go again just to see if I can catch the initial drop from the jump ship.

I don't have any lag issues, I'm pretty sure my ping sits around the 40ms range. I do get some lag from hardware limitations though, particularly at the start of a match, but my instinct is to think that isn't related. But I can post my machine specs if it's deemed relevant later when I get home.

I tried to get a recording again, but still way too laggy for some reason. But, I did a lot more observing to see if I can find out what's happening when other teams get such a big head start, and I think @Pantleon is right. I noticed as I played tonight that every time my squad was slow to leave the jump ship is when there were a bunch of people leaving at the same time, and our squad is kind of stuck and suspending in the air for a bit. Even a few micro seconds is enough to cause a huge disadvantage, and the air suspension time can vary.

I think this is just a bug that Respawn needs to fix.

@Geryth If you have a current-ish nvidia graphics card you could use shadowplay.
