Hold on, so do we actually start over for Season 2, as in level 1 all the way back to 100?
If that's the case, Elite wouldn't be queued for a while, wouldn't that render a level based Elite strategy completely useless?

I think the OP is referring to the normal Apex rank. Not the season pass.
No, the seasons have their own levels. What is suggested here is main level. This level doesn’t stop but the badge for it change to an A from level 101
Battle pass level does, not your player level.

No. You'll have a new season 2 level rank starting from zero, but your Apex rank (the main one) will always just level up.

Exactly. Level does not equal skill.
You could have a great FPS player that just started this game, they may be low level, but they are still great players.

I would say for elite Q you need not only top 5 but also minimum 5 kills to enter so all plebs who camp all game and get 1-2 kills before top 5 will need to play more agresive and proof theyr skill

I agree, but if you're at BP level 96 at the very end of the season, you clearly don't play often.
I got lvl 110 in a week.
If you play so little, I doubt your kill count is anything impressive.
