Re: Opinions on Auto Sprint?

@Cheese9Man Absolutely none, on controller. Well, you have to pay attention when you want to walk - it's not that hard, lol. It might annoy you a bit for a few games while you get used to it.  I can't imagine playing Apex without it.  Having to click to sprint in other games drives me nuts.

@pandareno1999 I just didn’t bother turning it on before. Played for a few hours and it felt awesome. As for the walking, yeah it’s not that hard and I would probably just crouch if I don’t want to be heard.

@OldTreeCreeper Rank felt good as a solo in silver in the few hours that I’ve played. I think I might try to grind to diamond again. Have you played in the new split?

@Cheese9Man not yet. I did look at the new point setup yesterday. I might give it a shot and see what gives. It's the short split of the season, so I may just play for fun to get as high as I can without getting frustrated. Then wait for the next split and the next new small points adjustment that's promised along with a longer first split time.

  • @Cheese9Man I switched to auto sprint a while back for that reason, my left stuck button is really inconsistent from all the other games that you need to click it to sprint so auto sprint removes that problem. It’s pretty convenient overall and might take a bit getting used to but I think it’s a no brainer in the end

@CCbathwater Just slightly disengage the toggle stick. I don't think there's a way to switch it on/off while running. Crouching disables it too.

@Cheese9Man I have had auto-sprint turned on since launch, Lol. I hate when my controllers end up with severe stick drift on the left toggle from sprinting (years of CoD), so I try to minimize how much I have to click them. Like @pandareno1999 I can't imagine playing without it. I've developed muscle memory for where the auto-sprint engages. You can do somewhat of a diagonal/forward walk at normal speed, with the toggle just outside of the engagement area. I believe the slight ADS increase is true, but I can't remember for certain. I've never noticed a time where it really hindered me though

@Cheese9Man played 2 ranked games. I'm at silver III.

First one went well, bronze teammates got 2 kills, and got a second, 98 points.

Second game, second too, 86 points, but died to a

premade masters squad, (in silver III)

There might need to be more than a small adjustment made at the end of this split (or sooner) if respawn have a hope of   rebalancing ranked in some big way to attract players like me back to ranked. The points needed to rank up seem to be huge mountain to climb too.

    🥳

Thanks everyone for the replies. Now I’ve seen the light and enjoying the auto sprint life. I still press the left stick from time to time out of habit but overall I like it that I don’t have to press multiple times.

@OldTreeCreeper Got paired with 2 rookie players in Silver IV.

The matchmaking is too loose in rank allowing 2-3 ranks above or below the level. This is not pubs. Why bother with ranking players when we’re putting everyone in the same lobby anyways. And I’m pretty sure there are enough silver players out there so there’s no reason why I was given 2 rookies.

Was hoping that rookie BH was a smurf account but nope. LOL.

@Cheese9Man yt is always trying to get me to put autosprint on. Might have to give it a go now that it's got your seal of approval 🙌
