Re: Scout of Action

@pandareno1999 I'm sure you can do lot more than that .
yesterday I saw a horizon (again) with 147.
honestly I don't think that a real number , o googled it and found that the world record was 148 on PC.
so yeah , what a cringe when some try to fool others and cheat their way to fake achievements just to satisfy their broken ego

    @maximas1986

    I recently learned where the stupidly high scores you occasionally see come from. There is some sort of exploit one can do involving two friends. Anyone you see on console with a score like that is a cheater.  I've seen around two such banners in the last couple of months.  IMO it's a weird flex because most players (I'd hope) would see that tracker and strongly suspect that they must have gotten it in some cheesy manner.  I may be giving the general player base too much credit for intelligence on this one, though, lol.

    @pandareno1999 I still despise the scout of action challenge (probably becase of my inability to get above 55) I am a console player, but I still feel I should be better at it. I haven’t seen anyone console or computer beat my Jackson’s bow out high score tho. (3972)

    @BigMacAttack8u That's how I feel about the bow challenge. No thanks! My high score is a lowly 1225, but admittedly I haven't spent any time working on it.  I've most likely only run it fewer than 10 times.  I'm really bad with charged shot mechanics that fire upon release of the trigger, across all games.  EDIT: I just ran it a few times and came up with 2304 - I guess a significant improvement, even if still quite poor using your score as a standard.  Now I just might start working on this to see if I can get to a point of being able to consider competing with your score!  (Score slowly rising with practice, I've now gotten 2600.  This leads me to believe that you can easily improve your SOA score with some work.)

    If you are pretty decent at shooting, I think you ought to be able to break 70 for sure. Have you worked at it seriously, or just a little bit? You could treat it as an opportunity to try out some ALC changes. I used it to fine tune several of my ADS settings.  I started out just like your score (see y initial post in the thread).  I set out trying to get a 69 for my banner, and it took a number of runs before I could do so.  I ended up hitting 70 by accident which was kind of sad (I originally started this thread to cry about it), but if I'd gotten the 69 I probably would have left off on it and never achieved something I'm fairly proud of.

    I highly recommend trying out Verhulst's firing range routine. Daily work improved my target acquisition leaps and bounds, which led to getting pretty good at SOA once I applied the skills I had developed.  His exercises definitely create improvement with diligent practice.

    @pandareno1999 I don’t believe that firing range practice serves much benefit, if I practice at all I practice with a friend. The bow out challenge was something I spent a couple hours on whenever I was bored with the modes and didn’t have a friend online. Usually each season I pick up a gun and try to master it. Last season it was the PK and before that, the sentinel at close range (no attachments) this season I’m working on the wingman, I usually choose a gun I despise, next season is the L-star

    @pandareno1999 Pro tip: move with the target as well as aiming at it, always be shooting, even when it’s red to maintain the dead eyes’s tempo speed. Take the time while it’s on red to center yourself on the target and aim for a critical shot.
    Getting that score took 2 hours of continued playing the night before and day off, no matches in between. I can now anticipate where it will go and track it near perfectly.

    I think it's a safe guess that when the Firing Range changes come into effect, these Bangalore challenges will no longer be part of the Range.

    Time for a last-ditch effort to grind up a 90, I guess.  Wish me luck!  (Since screwing up my alt account's 69 by absent mindedly warming up on it with SOA, I did manage to get an 85 for it, just respectable enough to put on the banners.)

    I'll miss this thing as a warm-up.  It was an easy way to benchmark whether my aim was sharp enough to jump into some games.  Hopefully whatever they add will replace this function for me.

    @pandareno1999 I think they’ll keep it, and the firing range challenges will be like mobile where you aren’t actually in the firing range when doing them.

    @Asmodeus566 Thank you!  I was running on fumes today, so I lacked the focus for a good grind - topped out in the low 80s.  Maybe I can get it yet.

    As amusing as it is, this freaking Firing Range bug is preventing me from being able to try to grind a higher score before the season ends.   😠
