Ever since Halo CTF I've camped objectives for kills. When people play an objective game type FOR THE OBJECTIVE then they're pretty much asking to be killed by anyone who is willing to give up the objective in order to shoot the fish in the barrel. The only game type this doesn't apply to is battle royale where the strictest definition of "playing the objective" is not engaging until you have no other choice.
