Re: Wingman + aim assist (console) = win

I'm not getting into this argument.  But I want to point out that high skill controller players DO favor the wingman, and it is considered to be extremely strong with aim assist, among players who already have very good aim.  Like many things in this game, what's best to use changes greatly depending on skill level.

@pandareno1999 Yeah I don't think it's too hard. Up close the AA helps it but anything beyond that and mnk people have an advantage just like with all other guns.

If anything the gun in general is too strong at distance. A sniper shouldn't be worse than a wingman at distance.

@hayhor Agreed. There's like no reason to use snipers when you can hit people across the map with a Wingman or an AR. At least all non-sniper weapons should have substantial drop-off dmg the further away from your target you are.

About AA and Wingman. Still don't get the "AA is so strong up close" and "MnK stronger at a distance" arguments, as it's way easier hitting someone 50-70m away than someone 10m infront of you.

I'm tired of arguing with people about aim assist.

If you think Aim assist makes you win, then you should get a console and stop complaining.

  • This proves my point once again. Pros in the last few months had no other complaints other than complaining about rank hence there was no wave of aim assist threads. Their communities just echo their complaints as if all of them are valid. I guess the wingman is now the hot new target. Don’t see Rampage complaints anymore even though it wasn’t nerfed. Why? Because pros stopped complaining too.

Pretty sure we all know some of these whiners in twitter wherein every tweet should be a “hot take” about apex. Remember kids, they need to keep their interactions up on social media to stay relevant.

What a laughable post. These "aim assist" posts are such a joke. I play series x and have a kd over 1. I can't hit anything with the wingman or rampage. Your argument is lacking.

@CCbathwater Depends on the sight and ads I guess. Also depends on sensitivity settings but you should definately more of an AA effect close up.

@Cheese9Man Do you watch any pro ranked or algs? They've stopped the rampage complaints because they all figured out the wingman is the superior gun over the rampage. They can use it close up or to snipe people from miles with no loss of accuracy or damage. And you can carry far less ammo. If you can run a wingman and a shotty you can have at least 3 more grenades.
  • You can get away with a 1 stack ammo on the Wingman, and no, it isn't aim assist, which is the worst of all the worst arguments (I'm going to give PC players Aim assist, and make all their keyboard response times 2 seconds slower, so they can get an idea of what its like to play with a controller).

The  biggest complaint about the Wingman is hit reg, which I'll just post up about in a different topic, but does also suck.  Having said that, if you are registering hits, the Wingman is simply a good gun, among the top 5.  This will never change because, like characters, your gun balance in this game is super broken.  The difference is, in game, you can pick up and change guns, you can't change characters.

Again, just use it if you are so saddened by getting killed by it.  The thing is too good right now, and it's hard to balance because it's one of those sucks or great guns.  Actually, right now, I think it is in an okay place because, unlike other weapons, you do have to actually score your hit as opposed to just generaly aim and hold down trigger for 30 bullets.
