Finally some good changes to ranked! I really hope matchmaking will be better because as it stands now it's really bad. Respawn should have been more brave increasing the points cap, but this is the right direction. Not sure how to feel about the 750 predators, probably top 500 was better visually, we'll see. Increased time for assists is a good thing too. Probably this is the first time I actually agree with most of the changes lmao.P.S. Finally Diamond trails are back!

Some good changes in here. Some questionable.Diamond Players Get Trails Again: It shouldn't have been removed in the first place and took like a year to come back. As always tardiness is a synonym for Respawn after all. Improved match quality, longer queue times for more teammates of the same rank hopefully. This is a good thing.Increased assist timing, you now have 10 seconds to get an assist up from 7.5 seconds. This is also a good thing. \Placement RP starts at 13th place instead of 10th, and Kill / Assist cap has been increased to 6. These don't make sense to me.

@EA_DavidI like those changes, I think they are in the right direction. I would have increased the Kill/ Assist cap to 10 though, making camping less viable and giving good players more rewards. Now with 5 kill/assist cap there is no point in fighting anyone after all your team members have 5 kills/assists and that's not a healthy system if you ask me, it promotes camping and camping should not be a thing in a fast paced fps as apex. I'm sad to see they haven't implemented rank demotion yet, big letdown.

@hayhor then shouldn't they reward skilled play by eliminating the kill cap altogether, and removing tier demotion protection? Nothing says, "I don't belong here." than getting consistently getting 10-20 kills in low ranks. Then when you hit Diamond that's when tier demotion protection kicks in (probably cause there still won't be enough people in Diamond).Like here's what I would think about someone getting 10-20 kills per match for each rank:Bronze: You don't belong here.Silver: You don't belong here.Gold: You don't belong here.Platinum: You got lucky in one game and can't do it consistently, or if you do do it consistently, you don't belong here / are cheating.Diamond: You got lucky in one game and can't do it consistently, or if you do do it consistently, you don't belong here / are cheating.Masters: You're probably cheating.Apex Predator: You're definitely cheating.

I seriously doubt these changes are going to solve the core problems with ranked. They aren’t even close, just being nudged to an already existing flawed system. But game companies, I understand, don’t usually admit to big problems. Probably because someone might get tossed over it.

@EA_David I was looking at the blog and above posts on my phone with youngtree, and wondering out loud how many points was being put up for 13th-11th place?
He pointed to the edge of the picture you posted and said "5".
I couldn't even see it with my glasses on 😃

@EA_David I like the overall changes especially the diamond dive trails coming back.

I think the one area I'm hesitant is the increase in RP for placement.

I like the changes to the badges. they look awesome! I really want a Master Dive trail. Going to try for it again this season, except with pre-mades.

@DarthValtrex I don't think you need worry as the extra placements for rp will really only have an impact on bronze and silver imo.

@OldTreeCreeper That's my hope, But I know that would have come in handy when I was pushing up from Gold I to Platinum IV. I would have made it there much sooner with that.

I really like these changes. Especially the assist counter going up to 10 seconds. Way too often one enemy gets away after you shoot 80% of them just for some random teammate to finish the kill.

Also the diamond dive trails are back! Amazing, can't wait to level up.

They've removed the diamond trail from the season 7 rewards. Yesterday it was shown in this picture and now they've edited it out. Big disappointment.

@pastaclown Yes I do agree with you and I've said they should change the kill cap. I think they fear people leveling up to fast tho and then not playing. This is a baby step towards a higher cap. I can only speculate on why tho.
