@hayhorNone of the ones I mentioned require line of sight (unless by line of sight you mean not inside a building). You don't need to see someone to damage them from healing with a grenade, arc star, revenant Q, valk Q, fuse Q, caustic Q, etc.
And, of course, Bloodhound. Exactly the same except wider field of view but no interrupt.
The player in the video could have just as easily kicked in the door and tossed an arc star inside, gas trap, rev ult, etc. etc. That's why I said this video isn't showing anything special except for skillful use of a Q.
Of course, I already shared my thoughts on how to adjust seer better, IMO. But some ppl simply live in denial. I wish they would've been more creative with a new legend, but Seer is what we have. I purchased him. I enjoy playing him (though I play 5-6 different legends every day).
Ppl need to understand he's not going to go away. Instead, the question is "what are other options that would make him more balanced?" Like the thought of the louder pinging with his passive. You can't just strip his entire toolkit and expect ppl to just have a weaker version of Bloodhound, lol.
Maybe line of sight is a little too much but the things you mention are all projectile based, except for blood. Yes you can throw them at a rock and hope for the best but if the enemy has good cover or is in a building chances are you will not hit them. So you need some way to get the object shot or thrown at the enemy. Seer doesnt need any of it. You just aim hopefully, watch the indicator and release. To me it lacks skill.

I've just watched the video and it is a good comparison. None of the other legends could have stopped that with their projectiles without putting themselves in danger. I had this happen when I was .3 seconds from getting a phoenix off. The ability went through 3 walls from like 50 meters away. It is a horrible feeling.
- 4 years ago@hayhor But it also doesn't do anything. So what if I just interrupted your heal? Unless I actually go and kill you, you're just going to heal again.
I'm just trying to think of any scenario where you'll be satisfied other than "get rid of him," which obviously isn't going to happen due to development constraints.
Maybe it should only interrupt if you're not behind cover. If you have line of sight. Oh, wait, that would be stupid because then I'm just better off just shooting you. There's no world where Seer would be used if the only thing his Q does is scan a straight line.
Even his passive only provides general information. It's not like you know the exact location of the enemy. They could be in the building, on the second floor, behind it, underneath it, on top of it, on the edge, in the middle, etc.
So, again, my question is... what would you replace the cancel with that would make Seer worth picking? - 4 years ago@LaughingSharko How it doesn't do anything? Canceling a 10 sec heal through walls is just giving you extra 10 sec to push the guy who just had his heals canceled and you can see him and his hp for 8 sec straight. 8 sec? Not to mention that you don't need to peek out of cover to use it, every other ability that you are trying to compare it with doesn't go through walls.
Talking about nades, so genius to bring nades in a convo about legend abilities. Absolutely a good comparison for legend balance...
First thing I would change about his tactical is make the reveal much shorter, make it pulse based instead of persistence scan. Something needs to be done about canceling a 9.9 sec Phoenix too.
His passive is just not it, good luck recovering banners in ranked. I certainly don't like Wallhack Meta, the fact that seer even launched with that kit is absurd to me - 4 years ago@BaldWraithSimp Got it. Your solution is "get rid of cancel, make scan weaker, remove passive." That sounds workable.
- hayhor4 years agoHero@LaughingSharko You cannot be serious with the does not do anything comment? It cancels a heal on a push......thru structures.......zero skill necessary. People hated on revtane 3rd parties but this is ok. I'm lost. The character needs a full rework. The devs even admitted they completely messed this release up.
- 4 years ago@hayhor So, no actual ideas then. Just completely scrap a character that people paid for and wait for next season? OK. I'm sure that's exactly what's going to happen.
- 4 years ago@LaughingSharko I think the best route is to either turn his tactical to be purely scan(scan and show armor) or a damaging/interrupting ability used during push(damage and interrupt) as of right now his tactical is overloaded and needs to be rebalanced hard.
- 4 years ago@LaughingSharko I didn't say get rid of cancel, mind reading it again? Only talked about a 9.9 sec pheonix cancelation when you are chilling inside a building, even the devs acknowledged it
- 4 years ago@LaughingSharko Just stop plz lol
- hayhor4 years agoHero@LaughingSharko I've given ideas on many threads. But yeah at this point I'd just start over completely with him.
