"Smurf" redefined (Pros should be banned?)
Tyler Owens, a build engineer at Respawn, made a twitter thread about the report feature and a person asked if the rookie to masters/pred challenges these streamers/pros do count as a smurf. This is his reply.
If this is the case then a lot of people should be banned including those who do these challenges. Tyler's statement adds to the confusion of what Hideouts definition of a smurf saying that it's okay to make an alternative account to do these challenges but not to farm lower-skilled players. On the other hand, if we don't consider these alt accounts as smurfs, then just remove the smurf category when reporting a player. In my opinion, smurfing is not a problem in pubs since these accounts are quickly placed in high-tier lobbies after 3-4 games. However, smurfs are a problem in rank where it would take them a lot more before placing them in their suitable rank. This can be easily fixed by raising the level requirement before playing rank to level 50.
What do you guys think?

"if you're playing Apex Legends & encounter a reportable offense, please... PLEASE use the in-game report tool every time even if you're convinced it doesn't do anything, I promise in most cases it's just as effective DM'ing a dev if not more. Plus it provides important info!
report them, have your duo report them, & if you see them again next game, report them again (especially if they are cheating, have an offensive name, etc.)
every time I watch a content creator accuse someone of cheating or smurfing without reporting them, I die a little inside"
Saw a cheater? Here's how you can report them.
1. Using the in-game report function. https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/report-players-for-cheating-abuse-and-harassment/
2. Message a dev on twitter about it.
3. Through the EA website. https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/?product=apex-legends
*A notorious hacker/cheater also said that reporting using the in-game report actually bans him quicker than messaging hideouts.*
