@SlivPTS Like I mentioned to unferthington, BEFORE, nobody complained. After rank, the majority of the community complains about it or about the RNG. I am definitely not the first to write about it, if you don't know then don't reply. And I said why I mention what a streamer said. It's because they have a big voice and if they trash talk a game, people will listen to them. The community needs to believe in the game or quit it, too many complaints with no context and it is a big problem when streamers have these superficial needs about a something that's exactly the same but now more inconvenient because of ranked.
- @RazviC00L You do know who Shroud is, right? He isn't your average streamer, has played competitive FPS games at the top level professionally. It's important for Respawn to listen to people like Shroud for ranked, he has a much better understanding of game mechanics than your average player.
This is the norm in every competitive game, developers listen to the highly skilled players, because they're playing the game at a completely different level to the average player. A mechanic that's overpowered at the top rank could be balanced at the average rank and so you balance from top rank.
Randomised loot is fine for the casual player, but it's frustrating for highly skilled competitive players. Ranked in Apex has lots of potential, it's important that Respawn listen to the highly skilled players.- @Neil_Enbob I see your point and it is a good one. Here is my problem with the situation. I for one have decided that to be a better player I need to be good all around, be good with every weapon and most importantly do my best in any scenario. I strongly believe any weapon rather than the mozambique and maybe p2020, is decent. Any weapon apart from those 2 and a white armour are a strong start for me and while not enough for a 1v3, you are in theory 3v3. If we are talking about something else and not 1v1s that's already a different problem, not a loot problem. So my golden question is: Why can I as a player who is above average but not top shelf material adapt and use the basic gear, but streamers or any top tier player want everyone to have the same load out? Shroud is already talking about a different genre of games, BR's are about the looting and doing the best you can with what you have. I can see the frustrating scenario being: what if 2 players of the same skill level have different loot, with one having all gold and the other barely all whites or all blues. At this point we have to ask, did the "unlucky" player loot fast enough? Did they drop in a zone with decent loot? and there are others, but I admit I can't think of them right now. But how do we solve this randomness? I didn't see or hear any answers. What did the highly skilled players say about this? Is the answer to give all areas the same loot so everyone has exactly the same gear and then it's fully skilled based? Is that a BR anymore? Is it really? Why has nobody ever complained when they get the good loot? No highly skilled player has ever said: "Look how easily we killed these guys, damn, the game needs better loot so our enemies are stronger". Where is the morale in that? In a way, I feel like the highly skilled players you are talking about are babies with bigger mouths. Do respond and provide feedback, I really like to see different opinions but I need to understand them so detail your response.
- @Neil_Enbob I also wanted to mention. At the moment, top streamers have everything from expensive setups, to great skill, to highly skilled teammates, so further, why can they not adapt to having lesser loot?
The game format is such that there will always be games where you drop and find little, the other guy next to you finds loads.
The only way to guarantee that you don't get pasted by someone who got better guns than you because of RNG (or guns when you didn't) is to not land in contested spots. If you land with another team - even if there wasn't RNG and everything spawned in the same locations that you could memorise - it wouldn't come down to skill. It would come down to who was lucky enough to snatch the weapon first.
