Excuse me, I'm in apex ranking. Is it illegal for me to team up with a person who survived from another team when there is only one person left in the team?

Even in the most moderated games of Apex Legends, the ALGS, teams would grief a team so that your team and the other would gain an advantage. As long as these are interactions are not pre-planned before even the game starts and you're not running around 6v3-ing other squads it's okay. "Teaming up" with another squad with only 1-2 players against the full squad in the final circle has been a thing in the game since 2019. It's a grey area since it's contextual to the situation when it is done. Even saw a game of Lulu where this happened where Hideouts was in the chat.

I would also report for teaming. Being knocked/eliminated by someone paired up with another enemy imo is colluding with the enemy. Not fun when on the receiving end.

@Asmodeus566 I think that is more what @Cheese9Man was talking about, since he mentioned final circle being the exception. For me, it's entirely situational. I usually try to bait the final squads into a fight, so I can try to 3rd party for the win, if I'm short-handed. Sometimes, if positioning doesn't allow that, I'll try to work on the full squad, hoping the other solo realizes the situation. I feel better about a 1v1 for the win, than I do about a 1v2 or 1v3, Lol. To me, that's not teaming. That's just playing the game with some situational awarenessAs long as it isn't coordinated/communicated, I wouldn't consider it to be teaming, personally. As you said, we all should know right from wrongIn pubs, I don't care enough, Lol. I'll shoot at anything that moves XD

not sure what the technical definition of teaming is but not shooting at a solo and focusing on the trio, in order to improve your odds of winning, I would consider strategy. Now, if you're running around with this guy the entire game (like Cheeseman said), or fighting along side each other and/or sharing resources, that's definitely teaming.

It always puzzled me a little why there was no actual mechanism in the game for teaming up - solos or whole squads. All's fair, as they say. Unless it isn't, I guess.

Actively teaming up with player/s from another squad is not allowed and is a banable offense during any part of the game.

Short answer to your question: yes it is wrong/Illegal/cheating.
I would not do this it could land you in hot water and risk your account.
If I see teaming I always report it.

Only if you somehow made an active agreement with the other player to focus the trio.
The basic choice of who you decide to attack is yours and can be situational. I would Focus the solo in ranked if possible to increase my odds of placing higher (more RP) or put myself in a position that would make it easier for the trio to focus the other solo so that I could get 2nd place (again more RP). In pubs, if I was looking for kills then I might just focus the trio but again the odds are against you.
I am not going to get into what the ins and outs are as that is discussing how to cheat and that is not allowed.
We all know what is right and wrong, so just do the right thing.

@swift07 Well, I have done that in duos, where I saw a lone enemy on my left and a duo on my right and thought..."he's in the same boat as me, so I'll go after the duo and if I survive, I'll get the lone man later and we'll go toe to toe and let the better legend prevail."
I hope that wouldn't be considered teaming.
