The problem with the abandon penalty in apex.

If we didn't have an abandon penalty then people would constantly be leaving matches for no reason.

"Why should I have to wait for my timer to go out before leaving? Even when my teammates have no chance of getting me?" I don't know, maybe so it can show on record that you couldn't be brought back? 

"Why does it have to carry over to other game modes?" Because it wouldn't be much of a punishment, and considering people still leave games for stupid toxic reasons, it really isn't enough.

"Why the firing range?" While it doesn't make much sense, I can still see at least one reason. You can invite teammates into the firing range for practice or sparring, and still have fun with that, which would pretty much not be a punishment. 

"But my teammates are weak little noobs, we don't stand a chance anyway or they're not good enough to play with me." This is very toxic reasoning. Apex is a game, meant to be enjoyed and to have fun. Stop trying so damn hard and just enjoy it for a change.

The people who complain about the penalty are usually the ones who end up leaving matches. Save for the few that get disconnected and punished for it-that one isn't fair and aside from not wanting to play with toxic players there isn't really any good reason to leave. 

Even with the penalty people still find a way to off themselves or quickly get their team killed so they don't have to deal with it. 

It's downright frustrating for the people who actually want to enjoy Apex, but can't because they don't get to play the match to the full extent when they get left at a disadvantage when their teammates leave or are just toxic little turds. 

It does need fixed as far as when I Lag Out but don’t actually quit it gives me an abandonment penalty and it’s 50/50 weather it will try and load me back in after the kick or just give abandonment. You should have to physically exit after the warning it gives you NOT WHEN YOU LAG OUT. It’s frustrating. 

Except when you get kicked from a game and it still hits you. You should only get it for quitting. Not for lagging out. It’s frustrating to be penalized for what’s out of your control. Since you can be kicked and receive this penalty even when you didn’t try to quit, you should be able to kill time in the firing range. 

I still say if it's not ranked, should not be a leave penalty, regardless of mode.

Some people play casual, and some people are playing casual cause they never know when something might come up and they gotta go, or just can't hold a * anymore and gotta literally go.

Ranked, sure, that is messing with an arbitrary "Feel Good Number" for others. But Unranked is the free play joke mode anyway.

Frankly, I find the penalty absolutely aggravating. If i get a team of idiots who play like its their first playing Apex, I don't want to stick around for a game that is essentially already lost but if i leave, i get spanked. So I'm forced to deal with two players who usually do one or more of the following:

1. Run away from every single firefight.

2. Die in under 30 seconds upon entering their first fire fight.

3. Drop us all the way out in what I like to call BFE(Bum * egypt) where NO ONE IS spending most of the match looting only to die in record time upon the first enemy squad we encounter.

4. Play like their solo, actively ignoring me and the other teammate, leaving us to die when we engage another team, and then proceeding to be a troll by acting like their gonna grab our banner only in reality their purposely taking their time so the timer is up by the time they reach he box and then they loot your box.

5. Grab my banner and don't bother respawning me ALL GAME(basically holding me hostage) until they die.

I could make a list nearly 20 items long but i'll stop at 5 having made my point... Penalty doesn't need to be removed but the devs need to provide special exceptions based on certain situations that allow you to avoid penalty or give players a one game leave with a timer that runs for 10mins, if you leave another match in that ten minutes THEN you get the penalty.  So you essentially can tell those bad teammates of yours where to "stick it", leave, and join a new game with potentially better teammates once every ten minutes.

I agree my powers actually just went out. What about that?

Another EA lover who don't get the game when playing randoms your a pro so most likely have a squad everytime,  I leave when I am placed with people who run I can down 2 then my teammates just run, if ea pulled there finger out there butthole and start working through the reports of peeps sabotaging the game then less would leave. Today for example 1 guy refused to get a body shield n then went opposite side to us 2 eveytime n guess what he died first we got his banner and he did the exact same, also in game I shouldnt have to listen to the N word constantly..EA again won't do anything to thses players.

I'll happily wait 10 mins when faced with toxic teammates..I don't mind playing with people who cam do much as long as they stick together. Apex will fall behind the finals soon as apex player base is now more toxic that cod.

But I think if you leave the game you shouldn't be penalised if you can prove why you left.

How can you have fun with idiots and racists? I bet your white so you don't get it and don't say mute them I'd rather leave them play with these scim
