TOP 5 legends and why!?

Hi guys, interested in as many peoples opinions in the top 5 legends S5 currently. I’ll post mine with a brief summary as to why!

1) WRAITH - even though she took a bit of a hit, shes still is a solid choice. The portal is amazing for getting in/out of fights. She’s hard to hit (extra damage taken however) and has that juicy phase which makes her immortal for 5 seconds. What she brings to the team is good evasive movement and also access for the team to take brief respite in the portal if a fight turns sour.

2) REVENANT - this guy is now nuts. My bro plays him with me and he just stomps. His silence ability is so strong, especially for the late game plays where caustic/Gibraltar has the ultimate ready. Hit them with that and they have no control over the final ring. The totem is unreal. Who doesn’t love a free push? Take totem, maybe down 1-2 enemy from a team and by the time your sent back to the totem the enemy team are already trying to patch up a catastrophic bleed. Go back in and waste the wounded. The no boundary on the totem has really changed REV from ok to darn right amazing. Can also couple with any legend and make it work.

3) CAUSTIC - the gas man. Can lock down any room, tunnel, corner. Great counter to an aggressive push And the gas grenade offers amazing control to a fight. The grande has the ability to redirect a team push into a ground of your choosing (which you have quickly trapped up). Sure, bloodhounds/digi threats can pick you out of the gas, but not every team is gonna be rocking BH/digi threats. Last, the gas doesn’t effect your team like it used too. Strong. Also, fortified makes the gas man tough as hell. How many times have you dumped a clip into the gas man and he’s still standing to only slap you back on to your knees? Frustrating but so darn good.

4) CRYPTO - I’m a crypto main and he just keeps getting these tiny nice buffs that make him better and better. I’m biased to put him here, yes, but what he offers is BH from above, which lasts as long as you want. His drone now throws out quicker. Very noticeable as countless times I’ve thrown it out under a fight in a tight situation and got that quick EMP off which either deters the enemy or just limits their defence once their shields are cracked. Sure you might crack your own shield but it doesn’t effect your team, in turn giving you the advantage. Also, there’s stigma to the drone being up as it can be shot down, but keep the drone low or in a clever spot and it should b good. Most of the time once you’ve EMP’d the enemy team is expecting the push and tend to not waste a lot of time picking it out of the sky. If you EMP and don’t push, say goodbye to that drone. THE biggest thing imCrypto brings is the information that no other legend can bring. The banner ping. Looting an area and unsure if your alone? Banner ping tells you and your team if you need to be on guard or not. I shouldn’t have to mention that the drone itself is a brilliant gauge as to where the enemy is, what they are doing and what the enemy team composition is. Once again, priceless informatio.

5) LIFELINE -

this one was a tough decision as pathfinder and Gib were also close contenders. . Her new revive is crazy insane. A well placed revive will have herself and teammate shielded, which in turns forces you to make that decision of “Do I push? Do I hold position? Do I fall back and target the other enemy player?”. She’s become a pest in the game and that itself I feel speaks volumes. Also has the ability to kit her team out early game, especially in kings canyon with the charge towers. Extra loot (usually heals etc) from bins is also massively helpful, especially if your team is starved. Her health drone is also a nice, not having to tap into your own meds is a nice bonus. she is also one of the only ways to access the PK/Kraber, both of which are amazing, especially taking a PK into the final ring.

MY FAV TEAM COMPS:

CRYPTO/REVENANT/OCTANE-

i usually play this with my brother and a friend. Insane aggressive combo that more often than not results in wins for us.

CAUSTIC/WATSON/LIFELINE

havent played this combo, but am coming across it quite often now and trying to drive these guys out of an are/building is hard as lifeline just keeps bringing the gas man and electric girl back to their feet. Very good defensive build.

Remember guys, this is personal opinion and it’s a collective opinion, not just ranked. A lot of this is based off of situations and experiences I’ve been through in apex. By no means am I a pro (would love to be!) and by no means do I claim to have the best knowledge ever. I have a strong passion for the game and would love to hear other people’s fav 5 and why.

@SinShadow9 I'd agree except for Caustic, I still prefer a skilled Wattson over Caustic. Crypto is highly dependent on the person playing him and how much time they spend on the drone.

I'd say Lifeline in number 2 though. Seen some really nice plays with her and frequently lose fights because of her revive abilities. I lose more fights to LL revive abilities then Revenants totem/bombs.

For me personally,and based off of team compatibility I would say.
1) Lifeline, makes any squad considerably tougher to fight as she forces an extremely aggressive play style to counter her powerful revive ability, which can often lead to mistakes. She also basically negates long range knocks entirely.
2) Revenant, an extremely aggression focused legend now,even more powerful when combined with a mobility legend.
3) wraith,honestly I think she's still a good legend, ties in extremely well with any team composition but i feel the successive nerfs have knocked her off the top spot.
4) gibraltar, a good defensive legend, overwhelming in small rings and in 1v1 scenario's.
5) mirage, brings unpredictability and general chaos to the party, invisible revives make for a nice touch too.
My rankings depend entirely on good players using the respective legends.

Excluding Wraith, I think Gibraltar can easily replace any of the other 4 on the list.

@DarthValtrex You've always hated caustic. You used to complain about not wanting to play with him due to gas hindering teammates. Embrace the fun that is the gas man!

@SinShadow9 as a Lifeline main, my top five picks have to be:
1. Lifeline. Great utility for her team both in and out of combat.
2. Lifeline. New revive passive lets her play more aggressively or defensively in many more scenarios.
3. Lifeline. On the smaller side hitbox wise, great for pushing aggressively with other characters.
4. Lifeline. Sometimes your teammates will give you gold backpack because you're playing her.
5. Gibralter. He's handsome.

@SinShadow9 For me and I'm not putting this in any order my top fives legends are...
Bloodhound, Lifeline, Wraith, Wattson and Gibraltar.

Excellent opinions guys! Good to see people following their own experiences instead of just posting meta. Glad to see everyone’s onboard with lifeline too!
I think with the right buffs maybe Bangalore could see some real threatening play. But with S5, almost every legend is super viable now which is amazing. Even octane is a beast now. I love it.

This is my list:

Top 5 Legends
1. Wraith
2. Wattson
3. Pathfinder
4. Gibraltar
5. Caustic
Wraith is the queen of safe rotations, has a small hitbox and temporary invulnerability.
Wattson is the best defensive character - without a Crypto it's almost impossible to penetrate a skilled Wattson's defences.
Pathfinder provides the most useful recon in the game - the next ring location. In addition to this he is good at repositioning the team but in a different way than Wraith.
Gibraltar is still a better support class than Lifeline even after the rework: the Dome fast revive is just too powerful!
Caustic is the most toxic legend (literally and figuratively) and provides defence and offence to a player.

I'm going to approach this question by answering which legends I do best with.
1) Mirage - I've only recently been playing him a lot, but seem to get a win every 5 or so games. I come out victorious in most of my 1-on-1 battles, and he's just real fun to play as. I think in a 1-on-1 gunfight Mirage allows you to get that first shot, which for me is huge, otherwise I typically lose. His ultimate re-charges super fast which is great for a battle or to utilize as a way to escape. His invisible revive has come in handy a lot lately, too.
2) Caustic - Was my main up until very recently. Still use him from time to time. His abilities are just too fun. Using the gas traps for positioning or trapping dudes in rooms is very enjoyable. I tend to be more aggressive, however, and although I think his abilities can be used as such, it's just not quite enough to slide him into the #1 spot.
3) Lifeline - I mained her the first 3/4 seasons of Apex. Would occasionally jump to others, but for whatever reason I seem to always do really well with Lifeline early on in Apex. My highest kill/damage game is with her. Haven't had as much luck with her lately, but I attribute that mostly to my play style as it has become more aggressive, and Lifeline doesn't help me as much in that regard as others.
4) Bloodhound - I rarely play as him as my friend mains BH. But when I'm by myself, occasionally I'll rock the hunter. His scan is awesome and helps me get the jump on guys. Plus he just looks cool.
5) Octane - "I wanna go fast" - Ricky Bobby. 'Nuff said.
