We need a direct communication with respawn

We need a direct communication with Respawn!

Again and again questions are being asked in this forum, that will never be answered by Respawn-employees.

So how can players contact Respawn directly to get their answers? Since this is the official Apex Legends forum, I´d have guessed that this was the right place.
But obviously it is not!

Respawn Entertainment has no official support, no e-mail adress, no phone number...they even don´t have a forum.

The only place of some Respawn-activity I know is Reddit - but it´s a one-way street: They keep posting news, community-questions are never answered.

Those are f.e.

- Why was "Lockdown" taken out of the Mixtape-rotation? Will it come back?
- Who decided to implement Akimbos in Apex and will they be put into the care package (what imo is urgently needed)

- Will the Wingman be buffed again?

- Why are you making the Wingman a rare weapon by reducing its drop-rate in mixtape-matches?

- Are there officially implemented bots in the game to fill the player-pool?
- How does your matchmaking work? Why is it so bad?
- What about the bad servers? Will there be an upgrade to finally get rid of the annoying netcode problems f.e.?
- Why is there still a no-fill-problem in the game? You´re still starting with 2 squad-members in trios way too often!
- Will you finally provide a monthly ban-report to the community?
etc.

We need a face-to-face interview with a Respawn support-member or at least someone here in this forum to answer our questions.

    We hear and understand the want to be closer to our developers and those concerns are valid. That's why I am here! So I can help mediate and pass along any feedback to our Devs. 

    Sometimes, there will be some questions we won't have immediate answers for, but we are 
    always listening.

    Please continue to use our forum and trust that I am here to support, listen, and deliver constructive feedback to the appropriate teams. I can guarantee that I will continue to work with all of you so we can improve and enjoy our favorite game together. 🤜

    It's ok. The last time i voice my concern, i got reported and was banned from forum for a few weeks. Not a great experience.

    @EA_MariFirst off, we appreciate your offer !
    But for instance, we talked for the longest time Aim Assist being overpowered , MnK Players which complained about the issue got ridiculed for 4 years straight and only bcs of an outside statistic Respawns hand was forced and their solution was neither good (nobody feels it being nerfed in any way) nor wanted (most MnK Players wanted input based lobbies since the introduction of "forced crossplay" in Season 7!).
    There are quite a number of similar examples like the Matchmaking Discussion, the Netcode Discussion ect.
    Those topics also didnt really get addressed, except a Blogpost on Matchmaking. And that Document left more questions than answers, it didn't reflect the InGame-Reality experienced by so many players.
    I hope you can understand, why some of us have the impression that our voices arent that worthy to be listened to.

  • @r1ggedgame It's PR speak, sounds good, say all the right things, zero action behind it. It's really easy to say stuff, kinda hard to follow through.

    The game is unplayable today due to cheaters and the networking just giving me zero registration. I haven't been this angry with the game in quite a while. Steam charts says there was 170k playing during peak, but sure doesn't feel like it. Long ques, servers feel particularly trash today, no hit reg, and going against 3-stacks several tiers above my rank. I just checked the Steam charts again, went from 170k to 115k in a couple of hours, that doesn't seem good.

    It really does feel like the game is dying this time around. Between the networking and cheaters, the game is just unplayable at this moment. Address the cheaters Respawn! Stop giving numbers, because the game is F2P, they make new accounts. Big numbers doesn't equate to stopping cheaters, clearly.

    @WhoopFighter & r1ggedgame I know it doesn't feel like it, but trust me when I say this: @EA_Mari and all the other CMs care deeply about the game and they're doing their best to help make the game better by relaying the issues we're having to the devs.

    I personally hope, (and want), us to have better servers, working audio, better matchmaking, better ranked rewards, a better anti-cheat, and so much more. If the CMs could snap their fingers to instantly fix everything, I know they would do so without hesitation.

    The CMs are also all players and fans of the game, (just as much as me and you), and they do face the same issues as us.

    I can understand if its a bit difficult to believe me, but know that I share the same frustrations as we all want the game to do better.

    My only hope is that you both would continue to share the issues you're having so that the CMs can let Respawn know. Like what @EA_Mari had said, that's why they're here.

    @W3stminst3r The CMs do review our reports and they do forward them to Respawn. When the CMs hear back on them, they let the community know that its been reported, and several reports have made it onto the Apex Legends Trello board in the past, (which is the Apex Dev's to-do list).

    For example:

    - This thread has been reported to Respawn to look into, and @EA_cuervo was the one to let us know that it has been reported. This thread is about how the Cobalt Katar Heirloom is not showing up on the legend's hip during a skydive, (and it should also show up on the Apex Legends trello board sometime soon).

    - Then there's these threads about a visual bug with some of Crypto's skins while using the "Off The Grid" Perk. This visual bug can be found listed as in-progress on the Apex Legends Trello Board here.

    Note: If you would like to look at these threads, you can find them here and here. (Don't be alarmed if you see these two threads merged. As of this post, they are not merged).

    - Last example I have for you. Did you know that when dying in the firing range, it used to not say "Player despawned"? It used to say something completely different. Back in January of 2022, I had posted a thread about possible Firing Range changes, and in the last part of my thread, I had suggested that this message should be changed from what it was, to what it is now. Within a month, this message was changed.

    This just goes to show how much the CMs are listening. Not to mention that point #3 was also added to the Firing Range. I think that one was after reading feedback from other's threads, but this one was about the ammo being too slow to pick up and the lack of an unlimited ammo setting. Picking up ammo is now faster, and we also have unlimited ammo.

    You can find my thread about the Firing Range here, but if you have any feedback for the Firing Range, please post it on this thread instead, as mine is an older thread.

    Note: I've recently had joined the Community Connection Program, so if you feel like they're listening to me because I'm part of the program, this is not the case as I had joined the program on October 2nd, 2024. If you feel like I'm posting this to cover for them, I'm not doing that either. I truly feel like they're doing the best that they can to help make Apex Legends a better game.

    Again, please continue sharing any issues you may have so that the CMs can let Respawn know!

  • @Midnight9746It's a bit of misdirected hostility, but they're also representing the company that I have an issue with. You and Mari might really care, but you also might not be in a position to do much besides relay what you think is most important. There's now another bias introduced.

    Are either of you paid by EA? Is this a volunteered position?

    I think what people are trying to say with direct communication, is why aren't they working on these fundamental issues that have been talked about years at this point. They finally nerfed Aim Assist a bit, but it didn't feel like a discussion at all. Just reduced the stickiness by a percentage. Most mouse users on the forums want separated lobbies, or for the rotational assist to be turned down.

    Games aren't democratic, so Respawn doesn't have to listen to anyone. And sometimes the developers absolutely know best. However, I don't think most people would say that the hit detection feels acceptable for a shooter. Can we get some polls going? Maybe give the community a voice to see what issues are the most important to them. Maybe we could vote on it?

    You both are probably awesome people, and I doubt anyone has an issue with either of you directly. That's not the issue. The problem is the same issues persisting Year after Year beyond some minor bugs. It's a big complex game, but when we don't hear anything, or they give up trying to communicate on issues like Aim Assist or the Server performance, people are going to get mad. The biggest things I see promoted and talked about are the damn cosmetics. Hell, they even had the Deep in a commercial. Use that money to improve the servers or to fund the anti-cheat department. WTF lol.

    @WhoopFighter Yeah, I have the same opinions as you and I figured the frustration was more directed at Respawn themselves.

    Anyone who's apart of the Community Connections Program is a volunteer. We show up as Champions, Heroes, and Guardians here on AHQ. As for @EA_Mari, I'll let them answer this question themselves.

    Actions speak louder than words.  The mods here may be passing along some version of our feedback, but based on the state of the game and the history of actual changes made it does not look like Respawn is willing or able to do anything to address them.  We get an endless stream of collection events but no fixes to the issues driving everybody crazy.

    Matchmaking, cheaters, smurfs, servers, & audio.  Do something meaningful to address those issues and then I may consider opening my wallet, but not before.

    Thank you for reaching out and offering your assistance in bridging the gap between the players and the Devs. Much appreciated! 

    You however, are not the first on this forum to offer the same, and then disappear. From what I can see the turn around rate for CM's is high on this forum. Hopefully your words are genuine and will follow through - again thank you. 

    As you can see the faith is lacking, and for good reason... most ongoing issues have been voiced, as well as begged to be explained and so on...with little to no results on the Dev's end. Like one mentioned... finally the Devs gave some information on SBMM last year, which confused some more than it provided clear answers. And since then their explanation of the SBMM isn't congruent with most players experiences when speaking to SBMM and when being paired with random teammates or against combatants. Respawn went silent after that. 

    Here is my main question for the Devs (there are many, but this is the most critical imo)  which I ask, could you please take back to the team for some kind of response (any at this point is better than nothing) - Please have them explain why players of lower rank (silver, gold etc) are constantly facing preds and masters without fail? Why is a new player with 50 kills being pitted against players with 150,000 kills? Why is a level 250 with a lifetime of 100 kills being forced to play against players with 110,000 kills on one character alone? 

    Your entire forum if you added up every thread and issue every voiced here, you will find this particular one exceeds all the others combined. That speaks volume, and should without fail generate a response and/or explanation at the very least. I would even be fine with a response like "We don't know" or "We are trying to figure out why."  - again any response is better than none. I would respect a genuine answer like the above - but being ignored is hard to swallow as it is unprofessional, lazy and down right ignorant, especially when during it all, they continue to keep the store pumping out product, looking for more of our money while ignoring major complaints and going silent.
