What is your opinion of the Hemlok?

As someone who isn't all that great at dealing with recoil I often use the Hemlok since it is easier to control in singe fire mode and has the burst option for cqb.
I like that it has a bit more damage per shot than the other AR's and that is kind of what makes it what it is.

Now Flatline and R-301 has the anvil-hopup, and the Havoc still has the turbocharger, although with a little bit less damage now.
Below are some stats to compare the guns, I did leave out the DPS tho since the anvil-hopup only works on single fire.

Hemlok:
Head - 32
Body - 20
legs - 15
(Bullseye - 35)

Havoc (normal / turbo):
Head - 29 / 27
Body - 18 / 17
legs - 14 / 13
(Bullseye - 31 / 29)

R-301 (normal / anvil):
Head - 22 / 61
Body - 14 / 35
legs - 11 / 32
(Bullseye - 24 / 61)

Flatline:

Head - 29 / 69
Body - 18 / 43
legs - 14 / 39
(Bullseye - 31 / 75)

With the Scout having double tap trigger it also comes pretty close to Hemlok I guess as it is a "burst", even if it is a short but powerful one.

G7 Scout:

Head - 54 (wiki says 60, tested in firing range and it is 54)
Body - 34
legs - 26
(Bullseye - 59)

The hopups are upgrades, and you won't get them every time, but I do feel like the Hemlok is left pretty far behind, and might not have been the most popular gun to start with.

@EdwardDLuffyBeen playing a little bit now on the new season, but haven't had the chance to get my hands on an anvil receiver yet. I guess only time will tell, but it makes migh causiously optimistic that the Hemlok still seems to hold value.

I would love a 1+3 times scope for the Hemlok, or some special thing like in real life when you tilt the gun to use different optics / iron sights.

2 times scopes are usually pretty good as well.

@dSKyNafinchinG7 was my favourite gun when I started playing, and it is making a comeback. I don't like the iron sights tho'!

@DarthValtrexI do try other guns, both as #1 and #2 depending on what I pick up at the start. But I usually still go for "easy aim" ones like Hemlok, Longbow, Alternator or maybe shotties, or Flatline.

@KelRiever  The Havoc can melt people, but without the turbo, that intial waiting is a BIG obstacle. I can't use it for ranged combat at all.

Hemlock for me definitely falls into the category where it doesn't matter how much damage it can do if used optimally since it's one of the (many) weapons in this game where I hit everything except the target. I'm very happy for all the players who seem to have mastered the art of recoil control, but there is a conspiracy theorist deep inside me who believes that all of you are cheaters. C'mon. Three years and 20k matches into this game and recoil on almost all of these guns is still uncontrollable? It's no wonder Xims fly off the shelf. The game practically begs its players to cheat.
  • @DrWizardo Myself, I love the Flatline(i refuse to buy any other skin so I'm Heat Sink for life), the R301 is an incredible gun that surprises me how well it hits at shots I never thought I would be able to hit.
The G7 imo is the most slept on gun. It has such a good mid to long range "feel", I don't know how else to describe it.
The Havoc as well doesn't deserve the negativity. Just tonight I got pushed by a squad while I was alone and I took the first two down with it. The last I finished with an Eva 8 but the havoc did the heavy lifting.
For the Hemlock, for me, I will swap it out as soon as I can. But there was something different during gun game with it. I have never hit shots like those with a 2x let alone a Hemlock. It would shred at any range. Which is probably why I couldn't get a handle on it cause I only had it for about 20secs till I seen someone.
Of course, when I then tried it in BR I may as well have been hip firing an lstar half way across the map.
Tldr, I'm mixed on it. Haven't had someone take me down with one in a while.

@DethMetalMilkManThere seems to be an opinion that it (Hemlok) is "OK" at least from what I gather.
I still use and like it, but I played a game just now with the Scout and double tap trigger and that thing is DANGEROUS :D
I'm am hardly a good player but once you can line someone up, they're in for a world of hurt haha.

This is my take on these two ARs.  The Havoc and Hemlok both present skill issues.  With the Havoc, it's being able to work around the spool up time.  My friend does really well with this, he knows how to work any particular cover to his advantage with the gun.  It's also hard to control the recoil at longer mid range, but that's neither here nor there.  The Hemlok requires extra skill at leading targets.

Assuming you can work with the spool-up time, the Havoc is an awesome weapon to have off drop because the base mag holds plenty of high damage bullets.  It also has pretty good hipfire and the iron sights are good.  The Hemlok, on the other hand, doesn't fare nearly as well at close range ever since the hipfire was well nerfed around S8 or so.  It had a nasty reputation close range up until that point.  It REALLY needs an optic to be much viable past drop.  I tend to trade both for other weapons if and when I can, because I just can't manage to be consistent with them.

I think AR balance is pretty good in the game right now, with all of them having slightly separate niches, but I've come to the opinion that the R301 does too many things too well.  Its only real downside is the mag size until at least blue mag. I had a hope it might go in the care package this season to change things up more than putting it in the crafter did.  To me the Flatline is the best balanced of them all.  The damage nerf didn't really hurt it too much.  These are just my average guy opinions based on casual play.
