Totally agree. I can’t stand fortnite but at least their season has new and abundant offerings. Map changes and stuff like that. If you read between the lines on this we get 5 weapon skins an octane skin and a bunch of season level badges. That’s it.
People keep commenting on fortnite. Fortnite had literally nothing for months. It's been out an age. How can you compare a 1 month old game with fortnite which has been out a long while... What are you all thinking?

Because that is the nature of business, not only in the game industry. When you come later to the game (so to speak) you have to provide more out of the gate than those already established. Or, if that isn't feasible, you have to provide what you offer in a better way than they do.
It was the same during the height of the MMO industry. WoW came along and did it better than EQ1, SWG, and the other MMOs of the 2004 industry era. As a few years passed, and WoW continued to expand, other studios jumped into the genre because they saw it, thanks to WoW, as a means to print money. But they put out games that were on par with WoW at its launch, and expected to compete with WoW as it was then, at that point in time.
And a majority ultimately failed to achieve investors' goals. Gamers at the time cited how it offered less than WoW. And arguments were made that WoW didn't offer those thing at its launch, either. But the point was: WoW didn't have to. It wasn't competing with WoW's success. It was the success. Those that came after had to compete with WoW as it was in that specific moment of time.
It doesn't matter what Fortnite had at launch. Fortnite is the WoW of the battle royale genre. Apex, Firestorm, Realm Royale, whatever the new BR game, has to compete with Fortnite of 2019, not Fortnite of 2017. - 7 years ago

What the hell else do you expect? Compare the game with where competition was years ago? What kind of sense would that ever make? If you are new it doesn't mean you shouldn't be judged on you merits. Epic basically invented the battle pass. All Respawn had to do was to copy it.

Ppl on here acting like apex needs to reinvent the wheel with their BP. It’s plain to see what has worked and is working. Their season pass is a grind for badges and a couple packs for 3 months... the 295000 xp to rank the season is an obvious cash grab to force casuals to buy levels cause they will never make. The issue who wants to buy a level to get a season badge?? Come on Lololol. Is apex season 1 pass the biggest troll of 2019?
