What's the point of Split Ranked?
Genuinely asking, I understand how it works but can't quite understand what is the reason on why Respawn introduced this new format.

@bosourd it's quite simply just a marketing ploy to make sure people play the game for longer. Obviously with the amount of issues the game has, especially ones that haven't been fixed for 4 seasons now, they're trying alternate ways to keep people playing rather than improve the overall quality of game.

"Moving to Splits per season, ~6 weeks of ranked play before a reset" - Rewards are based off of the highest tier, but they've "incentivized" playing both tiers because supposedly you get a reward for reaching the same rank for each split.
"Adding Master Tier, Apex Predator becomes top 500 players by platform." Same ploy to keep people playing for longer, especially big name streamers, if you have to constantly maintain your rank, you're constantly playing.
"Soft reset and scoring are the same, but soft reset is every split." Once again, it's incentivized to play each split for the "best" rewards.
