I know there is a shield exchange feature, but I don't think it is always safe to exchange it in the event of a surprise attack.
Even if we annihilate an enemy unit, the death box is not always in a position to exchange armor immediately.
But as you say, it is possible to leave the front line with various functions, such as Octane's Ultimate.
It may simply be that I have become frustrated with the surprise attack at Kings Canyon, lol.
On a different note, what do you think about the game time in the arena?
I find it quite long when it comes to tiebreakers.

As I mentioned in my reply to a different person, I thought it would be good to consider the surprise attack itself as the best part of the battle royale.

As far as arenas go I haven't tried it since the first season it was released. I found the mid to long range poke and heal game super boring.
The Arenas Meta this season seems to be the P2020, Mozam, or RE45 with Hammerpoints as soon as you can afford it, and then a R-301 as high as you can push it, OR both RE45 and Mozam with Hammerpoints.
I admit to using the second cause for some reason I just have better luck with pistols (other than the Wingman, which makes me sad).
