Who is my Legend

Trying to decide who my best legend is, and also trying to understand what that even means!

My Lore

I'm typically a shifty and tricky kind of player. I play semi-cautiously, I like to attack but be smart.

I started off maining Bloodhound, who remained my most decorated Legend. I also used Lifeline a lot during this time.

I had a solid stint with Wattson, before being an absolute beast with Ballistic. (Think I was in the top 2% or something with him)

Had some time with Loba and Vantage and Ash.

Recently been having some fun with SEER and Valkyrie in Wildcard. Quite enjoy both, but been liking Valk

Now, I usually judge my success based on how many kills and how much damage I do with a character. I feel like with Ballistic and Blood, Seer, I'm doing my best work there. But with Valk (at least in Wildcard) I seem to be getting frequent wins. (And okay damage/kills).

I think with some of my high kill Legends I have good wins too. But yeah, maybe I have to go with who gets me the Ws

What's your thoughts?

I seem to like having mobility/escapes/tricks and attack

 Who should be my Legend?

"I seem to like having mobility/escapes/tricks and attack" does not jibe at all with Bloodhound, Lifeline, or Wattson. Maybe not even with Ballistic. The legend I associate most with those qualities is Valk, and while you did mention her, she was pretty far down the list.

That said, the new Apex is about motion and very little else. Octane is the rustiest arrow in the quiver. Valk, Ash, Sparrow, each has benefits and drawbacks - the choice between them probably having to do most with the subtleties of your own personal play style. I would also count Wraith as mobility-based, but like Octane, she's arguably been superseded, as most of the original legends have been. Limited mobility would be Loba, Horizon, and Rev. Maybe Newcastle in a loose sense. And you might have to include Fuse on that list now. Again, let your own play style be the thing that points you in the right direction.

For me and my own play style, the most important quality a legend can have is the ability to instantly reset the terms of engagement, especially for the rare times when an engagement comes on me as a surprise. There are a lot of legends that can do that, but Valk is the best fit for me. I think Ash would probably suite me as well, but I've been using Valk for fifteen seasons now and I haven't really felt any weakness in her that would make me try someone else.

Whatever choice you make, keep mobility in mind. It was always important. Now it's critical. A few seasons down the road it will be all there is.

Oh man, I can't believe I forgot to mention Ash - just chucked her name in there.

Ash I would love if she was a little more mobile - if her Ult was either a tactical or just a lot lot quicker cooldown. Her Snare I find pretty useless, like maybe 5% of the time it does its job, maybe 15% of time it distracts someone, the rest of the time it doesn't really make a difference.

I play more aggressive with Ash. Crack shields and ult in or in a slugout do the quick dash to get a slight advantage. Or ult out of trouble.

Valk, I can do a similar thing to the Dash but it has to be used more defensively, due to time to switch back to weapon.

I'm zipping out of rooms and up levels with Valk, and so good to be able to easily bypass long journeys to get up platforms. And her missiles basically do what I would have hoped Ash's snare does. I find Ash slightly cooler, but love the mobility of Valk.

I left Valk til last as she was the most recent one for me who I'm currently sat using, waiting to get a decent skin for her. I only have common and epic.

When Valk first came out, I found her jetpacks a bit slow (were they slower?) Or maybe I was just playing her wrong.

She got a pretty major buff a few seasons ago. Faster cooldowns for both tactical and ultimate, better maneuverability when in the air, and I don't even remember what else. She didn't need any of it. She was perfectly viable already. But if Respawn wants to shower me with gifts then who am I to say no?
