If you've been playing the game for a long time then you are always consulting the Apex Calculator in your brain. That calculator provides very fast and very accurate data on many different game factors. How far away from me are my downed teammates? Did they down anyone before they went down? Did they go down in a building where they're easily camped or in the open? How fast did they go down? What are the odds of getting them back up without getting killed? What are the odds that I'll get their banner and trudge to a safe respawn beacon just to have them quit when I get there? Do I have anything in my kit that makes me want to continue to the end of the match alone? Is the next circle giving me advantage or is it an impossible rotation to a bad position? Are we second circle with four squads left or fourth circle with ten? I'm sure there's more I'm just not thinking of at the moment. But that's what's going through my head when 90% of the time I leave the game after my teammates go down. If one is still up I'll stay, but if both go down I better have a level three tripletake and a gold devotion if Respawn thinks I'm gonna stay in that match. It's nothing against my teammates. I'm not angry at them, or even frustrated at this point. But I'm also not going to give a free kill to some diamond three stack because my squadmates self-destruct.
I like the apex calculator comment. Sums it up. If my teammate was jumpmaster and deliberately hot dropped on 4 other squads then both my teammates are down before I have found a weapon, my apex calculator already puts me back in the lobby. Other situations are obvious how bad the game is going to be, and rather than try to break my controller I leave and do something else.
For those of us who leave when 2 teammates are down, it really is just about we have played enough 1 vs 3 games it just isn’t fun anymore. We all can’t be Faide and I don’t even pretend I am.
