Why would it being a battle royal have anything to do with the que times and map selection? Granted, you're not going to see rotations like battlefield with 10-15 maps, but the map is also much bigger.
We are specifically talking about que wait times. The only arguement can be that multiple maps would increase que because the playerbase would split into multiple factions looking for different maps...but they already have done exactly that with ranked vs unranked, and even snipers/shottys (so 3 ques) and it had absolutely zero effect on wait times so far as I saw.
Have you ever, I mean ever, had a wait? I haven't thru 2 seasons playing PS4 at extremely varied hours (noon, mid day, night, late night ) ever had to wait more than 15-20 seconds unless it bugged out, in which case you just stop search and start it again. And this is on a janky * 4G connection that will literally only work on the east coast servers (West coast lags).
Nonsense. It made no difference on battlefield, cod, or even Apex itself. It's all money, because it's EA.
Edit: also, with games like BF you don't have nearly the same number of people on que at the same time like a BR. BF games last 15+ minutes for Conquest (most popular) and people don't leave constantly. On Apex the majority of the server is in game for less than 5-7 minutes until it's down to 4-8 teams. In other words, with a huge playerbase vs BF and people constantly needing to restart 5-10 times an hour the que will never be empty.
