Wraith?

I just got on the forums so I don't know if this has already been discussed.

Shoudln't Wraith be a recon legend (with pathfinder, crypto, and bloodhound)? I just thought about it and she's basically Pathfinder. Both pathfinder and her have a movement ability on their tactical, and a movement ability for the team on their ultimate. More than that, Wraith is able to warn her teammates that she's been spotted, which is also pretty helpful. I feel like she'd be perfect in the recon/scout role is all.

Anyone know why she's in the... I guess bullet role?

P.S. - Are there names for the roles, or not? Also with this logic^, Octane could also fit in the scout/recon or whatever role.

  • @Snugglez4u I think they consider a class offensive if they can engage and disengage really well probably why Mirage is considered offensive even though though he doesn't have movement ability in his kit he fits more of a recon/support legend cause of his illusions being able to bait teams out and being able to revive teammates while invisible. I could be wrong though.
  • Never thought about it that way. I'd love for the roles to be more defined in the future.

  • @Snugglez4u Hey welcome to the forum! Happy to have you here. This has been brought up before, but it's been a while.

Now this is just my opinion and a guess on my part. I can some what see why you would think she would belong in that class. I think the main reason she has not been given the ability to scan for the next ring is simply because she does not need any more abilities.

She's already a very strong legend as it is. If they give her more ability including something as simple as scanning for next ring it will just make her that much better/stronger.

@Snugglez4u Wraith's tactical is a get out of jail free card, it is not a movement ability. You don't use it to traverse terrain faster or to take high ground. You use it when you're taking fire and you want to escape or reposition yourself without getting killed. She's an aggressive offensive legend. I would classify pathfinder too as an offensive legend if I were Respawn. He is meant to be played offensively, the only recon stuff that he has is the fact that he can scan beacons.

Kind of agree with this, but just give the offensive class a bit of a buff.
The classes are only for new players to show them how to play those legends.

For example, wraith mirage play pretty aggressive/flanking but a caustic and Gibby play defensive.
The only really thing are recon legends those have a second passive that allows them to use the banner scan thingies.

I think a special buff for each class would make things more clear and adds something to their playstyle.

For example offensive legends getting a small movement speed bonus when walking towards an enemy in X range.

But this could be a unpopular opinion

@Zeelmaekers I don't disagree. But my concern with the idea of giving offensive legends a small movement bonus.. How would that impact legends like Octane or Bangalore? One is a speed demon, the others passive is Double Time.. If they give other legends speed boosts, it diminishes the impact that abilities have and the advantage those legends gain from those abilities.. So they could end up with some balancing issues if they go that route.

Bangs Double time is what makes her so great.. It's probably her best ability.
  • @Tad844  That makes sense too. I'm still stuck on the idea that she can warn teammates that she's been spotted. That combined with two movement abilities makes her feel very recon-esque.

True, but I was just thinking out loud, I'm in no way a great game balancer, I rather throw out ideas and see what people think about it.
The general idea was just something about the class's unique passives.
