@GH0STEDbyMEI do as well from time to time. But I read an article that stated Sony has been throttling peoples PS4’s in Europe due to high demand.
Wowww.
Between that and EAs dodgy enough as it is servers...
GG
@DarthValtrex this explains so much.
@MandatoryIDtagYeah it does, I have been noticing really bad lag/latency during peak hours in my area.
I'm not in Europe and I don't think it's on EA end. I'm not even sure it's on Microsoft end. I have been toying with my net connection and running speed test. It's not terrible and it should work for gaming. How ever I still have issues during peak hours. I'm sure if I was a bit more savvy in the tech world I could pin down exactly where the issue is. But right now my internet is running about 30% slower than what I pay for and that's outside of gaming.
But Apex can be two different games for me, there is smooth running apex in which I dominate.. Then there is laggy apex in which I struggle to break 100 damage. It's typically between 6:00PM-10:00PM. The game runs insanely smooth between about 12:00AM-7:00AM and fairly good between 7:00AM and about 4:00PM (ironically when kids get out of school). Things start slowly going south between 3-6PM on the given day. Weekends it can be extremely difficult to game unless it's really odd hours. The absolute worst times for me are between about 7:00PM and 10:00PM when people are streaming endless shows, movies and every kid is gaming before bed time.. I think that general network congestion is what's causing it. How ever it's not just Apex, I have noticed it in other games as well. So I know it's not just EA's servers.
The lack of other entertainment options due to everything being closed/restricted has a record number of people sitting at home. If it is microsoft, uh can they just suspend the netflix and youtube functions on xbox until further notice?! You want to watch that, do it on a tablet, phone or something else, but don't let those services ruin peoples ability to game on a GAMING CONSOLE!!
@1ronKeys I don't think EA's servers are as much to blame as you would think. I have switched to other gaming companies FPS games when I get lag and notice it there as well. Sure there are times when it's clearly on EA's end, but it's probably not as frequently as you might think.
@DarthValtrex Yeah i mean for weeks I've noticed a slight ping increase on apex. Normally reads 7-8 ping for my nearest data centre, lately its been reading 11-13 and thats just for the lobby, god knows what that jumps up to during actual gameplay. Probably not a huge amount but when you're used to a clean connection you really feel it lol.
