Thanks for tagging me in and I'm sorry for not getting to you previously. If you haven't attempted a reinstall that's always worth a try because others have came back with positive results. You have a beasty machine so you should be able to run it at max settings.
Have you tried CCleaner yet? We have an article on how to do that here.
It also might be worth rolling back a driver once and play the game. If it errors out, try rolling it back one more time to see if you can play on that version.
@EA_Blueberry yes i did that today again and tried all drivers. Whats funny that people with accual BEAST setup like intel i9 9900k and RTX 2080TI (some with 2080ti in SLI) are having this issue.

Were you eventually able to figure out a solution to the freezing you've been experiencing? If you're still freezing please attach a fresh DxDiag for us so we can review your PC specs. Nvidia and AMD have released new drivers since the last reply on the post so be sure to update those if you haven't recently.
Resetting BIOS to the default setting is something that has been working for a lot of players experiencing crashes as of lately (updating BIOS works too, but that is more of an advanced PC troubleshooting steps we advise exercising caution when performing)

Not the same poster but I get the same crash, just not all the time. Happens more rarely.

I've been playing apex stable on potato settings and it plays stable only on 60 fps and i don't know why but only if i set my monitor refresh rate to 60hz. So i stopped playing... game feels laggy on that settings and like there was a lot of delay - unacceptable in fps games. My servers are far, so my ping is already big and to add this... it's unplayable.
I will try new drivers as you suggested, but after 6 months of problems and 4 months of 0 patchs addressing this problem i doubt it will do anything.
I will keep you posted and attach dxdiag after instalation and testing.

Nice RTX card btw.
Have you tried updating to the newest Windows 10 Build? It looks like you're on 17663 which is an older version. Search "Windows Updates" in the desktop search bar to look for updates.Do you get this error when you run the game at different graphical settings and have you tried making custom adjustments to the Nvidia Control Panel (or reset settings to default)?

So I have the same issue currently and I made a post about this and it was also pushed onto a solved topic, but it isn't solved. But since this page is a lot more active I'll post my issue here.
I used to have the Hung crash issue and with the latest 436.02 update, instead of getting Hung crashes, I now get gpu removed / updating. However, it's a very weird occurrence since I don't crash in a constant way. I usually crash in game on the ship and it's very constant with the Hung crashes because that's how I would crash too. So it kind of "rename" it self to another error. I have done a DDU clean install of 436.02, however I didn't remove PhysX and Nvidia folder when uninstalling via DDU.
On another note, I posted this on Reddit with weird packet in and out when using the shop. I don't know how to check for ins and out of packets, but I do know it's very bad since I have a USB wifi adapter and it gets broken when there's too much load onto it. When buying packs in game shop, it broke my USB wifi adapter, and also when opening packs. I assume this has to do with server syncing which might be a fix for code:leaf stuff, but that's my guess. However, it isn't as a big of an issue as the crashes since it doesn't ruin games. I feel bad when I play ranked and I crash which has happened maybe 3 or 4 times and there's nothing I can do.
If anyone has an idea on what to do, I'd give it a go. This only happens for Apex Legends, but I have recently started playing less of Fortnite. This hasn't happened in the past until 436.02 driver update, but if I went back on that update I would get Hung crashes, which happens far more often. I'll provide any information if possible
EDIT: I have followed this guide to get more fps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQ03GRVmsj8
I feel like these are very standard stuff and not like insane tweeks, but it could make or break the game I guess.

Updating windows, will report back. No custom adjustments in the control panel, I've never fiddled with that. Havent changed anything in the graphical settings because the crash is fairly infrequent for me compared to OP saying it happens soon after launch. Would be really hard to link what change might 'fix' it. In my post, that was the second game of the day for me. It happens maybe once a week, playing 3-5 games every other day or so. But it was the same error code. Hopefully my info helps track down the cause.

I also ran a CCleaner registry clean and I have gotten worse crashes now. Before I used to only crash with the error message and I can't tab out to the error message but I can close the crash message on the windows toolbar, I sometimes get PC crash freeze where I would just freeze up and I can't alt f4/ctrl w or even windows task manager with ctrl shift esc or ctrl alt del. It might have to do with tabbing out before the game starts? Been trying to figure out if theres a constant way to crash it and it might be tabbing out.

Hey, today i have tested the game on newest drivers and good news i don't have device_hung error anymore
SAD THING MY WHOLE PC FREEZES...
- 7 years ago
@smykoIyeah, the recent 436.02 driver fixed hung errors for me too, but now I freeze or crash with the gpu removed/updating. Honestly felt like hung error got replaced with this error

How is it in your case? game freezes and error pops?
in mine - when game freezes and I will wait for a while the whole PC freezes. I can speed up this freeze by using Crtl + Alt+ Del ^^
Any fix or topics related to this issue?
- 7 years ago
@smykoII only have had this happen a few times but the entire PC freezes and I can't do anything. I posted it before, but I can't exit it out or anything. No error messages no alt tab no ctrl alt del/ctrl shift esc no alt f4/ctrl w. I have to restart my computer, maybe if I waited long enough it would be fixed. The other crash that happens has an error message but it doesn't show up on your screen, you'll have to alt tab and then it still won't even show up, I have to close it via windows toolbar and then apex closes.

@ChichigamiPHLive @EA_Blueberry
As it seems, problem is the same as before. Game is freezing (crashing with device_hung before) only when i use 144hz and unlimited FPS. At 60hz (monitor must be set on 60hz otherwise it crashes anyway even at 60 fps set in game) and 60 fps game is stable... - EA_Blueberry7 years ago

I was out for the last 2 weeks, are you all still experiencing freezing with your game? If so, please include a fresh DxDiag so we can look into the specs and Windows reporting errors.

Yes the error is still present. As i wrote in post above, PC and game only freezes when I'm playng above +max_fps 60 -refresh 60 and monitor set over 60Hz. Game dont like when I play on 144hz and I don't like playing this game under 144hz 😉 PC setup didn't change since last dxdiag only thing that has changed are new windows updates(after that still crashes). There is new driver 436.30, I will update my GPU drivers and test it again then include Dxdiag. But for now since nothing has changed I'm not risking it. This game isn't worth breaking my PC.

Here you have fresh after driver update and then freeze dxdiag 😉

Can you uninstall RGB Fusion from your PC, restart it, then try again? I see there's an error there and RGB has conflicted with Apex in the past. Let's just see if you're able to launch the game without it freezing as a quick test.

Apex Crash Message
---------------------------
Apex crashed in nvwgf2umx.More technical information should be available in "apex_crash.txt" in your Documents folder.
Ctrl+C in this window will copy this message so you can paste it as text.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------Just crashed in middle of a game which is pretty rare since I usually crash early on in a game. I hate this since I just left my teammates in middle of a game.
EDIT: Stopped playing after crashing the first time just came back on and another crash.

I were transported to this topic. I can launch game with no problem, even at 144hz/fps. My game freezes when it takes too long. maybe after 20-25+ min into the game. This error logs from RGB Fusion are because when i start pc and don't close rgb fusion Apex thinks that it's a cheat and the error pops.

@ChichigamiPHLive
Have you tried updating to the latest driver for your Nvidia card?
@smykoI
Any way you can simply uninstall the RGB software from your PC just to test it out? We've seen some strange results where a game stops crashing after completely uninstalling it from a PC.Have you ran a SFC/Scannow command to repair corrupted/missing files and are both your video card/PC power settings set to max?
- 7 years ago
@EA_Blueberry Yes i ran SFC/scannow. Yes i tested game on max power PC and GPU. And NO uninstalling rgb fusion did not help.

Do you use MSI Afterburner? Check out this post to see if lowering the core clock and memory clock helps.
- 7 years ago
@EA_Blueberry I have tried it before, lowering to stock and even lower than that. I did everything that is listed as solution and more that was suggested on this forum.
