@Wygyny Can you try what @pandaonritalin suggested? Also, you can try disabling Origin in-game overlay and seeing if this continues?

100% CPU usage

Hello,

I'm experiencing high cpu usage and thus low FPS. Playing on public servers it'll usually stay at a 100% all the time.

Pc Specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 3750H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti with Max-Q design
16 GB DDR4 RAM

I´ve already tried:

Updating drivers.
Changing In-Game settings.
Changing settings in Nvidia System Control panel.
Setting affinity of r5Apex.exe to 4 cores or less (but an error pops up that says "Unable to access or set process affinity. The operation could not be completed. Access is denied".)

Is there anything else i could do to solve this problem?

@Wygyny Can you try what @pandaonritalin suggested? Also, you can try disabling Origin in-game overlay and seeing if this continues?

@Wygyny Is apex the only program running the CPU high? Are you running anything else while playing?

well playing on a laptop.. its really all about power saving

if you have time try this:
-lower audio bitrate to 16bit/44khz in the sound control panel
-lower mouse dpi/polling rate
-disable every non-microsoft service (msconfig.exe) from starting up
-disable windows indexing (it runs in the background often but turning it off will make it harder for you to find files on your pc)
-make sure windows plan is set to high performance

@EA_Illium I've tried clean booting and even then apex legends runs around 85-95% of the cpu.

@Konform103Okay, so it didn't cross my mind that windows plan could've been the problem. For some reason it was set back to balanced instead of high performance. Thank you!

@EA_Illium Yes, sure. Now that I've changed windows plan to high performance, it doesn't seem to be at a 100% all the time, although it's still pretty high. But I'm not getting much more than 60 fps, which I don't know if it's normal for my specs.

@EA_Illium Nevermind, I've checked again and it's still running at a 100% most of the time. After a few minutes of playing FPS go down again.

I had this exact issue when I reinstalled Apex on my new rig and it ended up being to do with Origin's sharing information systems which for unknown reasons are completely borked and force max CPU usage for absolutely no reason.
To give you some idea of how it shouldn't be anywhere near 100% I am currently running with an I9 9900K CPU so a mere application shouldn't max you out but it was.
Turn off any and all Origin information sharing things like *Helper service* and Share system interaction data and see how it goes for you but for me it was the solution.
