About the issue file missing/damaged
Dear EA Support Team,
I am writing to report a persistent issue with Apex Legends on my PC.
Every time I launch the game through Steam, I receive an error stating that the installed Apex Legends files may be corrupted. The game reaches the startup screen but fails to launch properly.
I have already tried several troubleshooting methods:
- Verified the integrity of the game files through Steam.
- Removed all custom Steam launch options.
- Checked my disk using CHKDSK, which found no file system errors.
- Started a Windows Memory Diagnostic test to check for possible RAM issues.
I also previously encountered an engine error stating “Failed to decode audio pak file.” This particular error stopped appearing after I removed the custom launch options, but the game file corruption error still persists.
I am also wondering whether there could be a conflict between Apex Legends’ anti-cheat system and Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE), which is installed on my PC.
Could you please help me identify the cause of this issue and suggest a solution? I would prefer to avoid reinstalling the entire game if possible.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards
