Anti-Cheat not working after a new Router

Hi, I recently got a new optic fiber internet and a new router.

After the ISP crew isntalled the internet, and verified that everything is working, I jumped into Apex to try my connection out in a game.

On the first launch, my game crashed and I got an error message saying "client not running anti cheat" and can't play the game now.

I tried reinstalling the game, veryifing files, manually allowing anti-cheat through firewall, and some of the youtube suggested workarounds like running anti cheat and repairing it - but i can't actually run anti cheat, it wont open that repair window.

I am also talking with the ISP to see if they may have a clue, but this looks  to me like an issue on anti-cheat side. Can anyone help with this?

Can anyone from EA or Reswpan actually chip in here? I am desperate.

  • I had the same issue but I didn't change the router, was able to play the game by trying different things but it was always random I think. In the end I just stopped playing since nothing worked. Tried installing in Steam/EA, turning off antivirus, etc. Only thing that always worked was using another account.

  • Thanks for your comment! When you say using another account, did you create another account altogether and then you stopped having this issue permanently, or did you have to swap between EA/Steam accounts whenever the issue would appear?

  • What appears to be working for me is resetting the router, but I can't understand why that would work, and what the issue is in the first place.

I am trying to get assistance from my ISP, but needless to say they all seem baffled by the issue. The worst thing is that starting Apex seems to kill my download speed altogether, and all of a sudden YouTube and everything else starts working like crap, and I have 500 mb optic internet THAT I BOUGHT SO THAT I COULD PLAY APEX SMOOTHLY.

No problem! I used an EA account I made back when origin was still a thing, using that account the game doesn't crash or give any anti-cheat message. Yesterday after replying to your post I tried using a mobile hotspot network and the game connected to the lobby on my main account without any error. After that I switched back to my wi-fi network without closing the game and the game worked fine. Maybe try that if you're able and see if it works.

  • After I got a new pc I was getting the same problem. tried everything to try and fix it but nothing seem to work. resetting my router fixes te problem for bit but after not playing for a while the problem comes back and have to restart my router again it works. haven't contacted my ISP yet but doubt they will come with a solution anyway.

  • I also contacted my ISP and they are trying to work out the issue, but probably nothing they can do. The thing is that not only does Apex not work through ethernet, it also completely kills my internet on ethernet too.

I don't have this issue when I use a USB WiFi adapter, but honestly I think I'm just going to delete Apex and forget about it completely. I think this was a sign from God that I should just be done with this company.

They don't even have proper support, and outsource their support to a **bleep**ing forum so that the community can slave for their benefit. Just completely shameful behavior from one of the biggest gaming companies in the world.
