Apex Cosmetics Missing

I am looking to figure out some things that have gone wrong with cross-progression. I unlinked my PSN account from the EA account it was linked to. I then linked the PSN account to another EA account hoping that the cosmetics would transfer through. I know the potential consequences of unlinking the account. Before the PSN account was unlinked, I had conversations in the past with EA staff and I was getting no/very slow responses about this issue, so I unlinked the PSN account hoping my cosmetics would transfer over. When this happened, I could still see the cosmetics on my PSN account but was not able to select/use them. Another EA staff member that I talked to said that the items are saved on the EA account and can be regained once my account links back to the original one. After seeing only a couple of items transferred over, I waited six months to get the account re-linked to the correct EA account. I have only gotten a couple of items back on my original account from my PSN account, but none of the important ones. There is another issue occurring where the items are present on different EA accounts. For example, a skin in the game from my PSN account is on my other EA account and the EA account that the PSN account was linked to. I have recently talked to an EA staff member about finding the important items and they said that they could not find anything on my main PC account. One request will be to see if there's something wrong with my data as to where some of the items on my PSN account came back. Another request would be to check the EA account that I am using for this case to see if any of the items are still available.

  • Hey @YaBoysColorblind,

Progress is stored at the EA Account level, not on individual platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, etc. This would be why linking the PSN to another EA Account didn't result in those cosmetics transferring over.

Unfortunately unlinking a platform can cause a loss of progress, as called out in the article here. I've attached that below, though it sounds like you may have come across this info.

While re-linking to the original EA Account can sometimes restore access to that progress, that's not always the case. If you've re-linked the original accounts and that still hasn't returned, unfortunately there wouldn't be another way to try recovering the cosmetics.

When you unlink a platform account from your EA Account, you can link it to another EA Account, but your in-game progress won’t transfer over.

That means you’ll permanently lose access to:

    • games and game progress
    • DLC, expansions, and anything extra you have for your game
    • memberships and subscriptions
    • in-game purchases.

If you unlink your platform account and link it back to your original EA Account, you may be able to get your stuff back if you still can access the account.

    Unlinking risks for Apex players

If you unlink a platform account that you use to play Apex Legends, you might have issues with Battle Pass leveling, item unlocks, and other errors.

Instead of unlinking and relinking a platform account you play Apex on, we recommend starting fresh on a new account.
