Apex Legends - Bad Frametime, Rough Gameplay when starting up

Hello,

I am currently having an issue with apex legends, this started sometime around last week. I never had this issue before so this is pretty new. I can't seem to find any answer to resolve this.

When starting up the game I am getting 'consistent' bad frame time if you look at the screenshot you'd see how bad it is so the game feels pretty choppy despite the 100+fps and this happens for around 10 - 15 minutes and can be resolved by either waiting or turning g-sync on and off, changing Nvidia settings from full screen to no-scaling or to aspect ratio but I don't wanna have to wait or have to toggle the settings back and forth every time I run the game.

I have pretty good pc build so I do not think that can be the issue and this only happens with apex legends.

  • Hi, I think I

have this problem too. When I start the game, first few minutes my FPS and monitor frequency is jumping (its unstable) from 138 to 299 (or capped to 165), after couple of minutes it stopped to 299 or (165 if i capped FPS).

    I was trying to:

    1. Reinstall Windows.

    2. Reinstall many times NVIDIA driver - (DDU too).

    3. Steam/Origin reparing the game many times.

    4. Uninstall the game and Install the game again.

    5. Defragmented and cleaned the hard drive.

    6. Changed so many times ingame Video settinngs - Nvidia Control Panel settings (1000 times), I tried to increase/decrease FPS and monitor frequency.

    7. Used MSI afterburner to slighty increase performance if it helps (it wont).

    8. I have tried all possible tests to see if my hardware is OK (including physical tests, switching GPU place to another SLOT, switching cables to another slots, visual inspection)

    9. And many other things..

    10. I want to let you know that my PC/game worked without problems before.

@HaveNoTime4 The funny thing is that I don't have time for that, I will switch to another game in this style, as I need to stream. Thank you anyway for the answer.

@IamVeeny do it because they are not going to fix this, only releasing new stuff you know same as RIOT

  • Turn off Nvidia Reflex - if u turned it already off ingame in the Graphic Options, also force turn it off in the Nvidia Settings, maybe in a seperateGame Profile only for Apex Legends (if that is posible) - i dont have a Nvidia GPU, but i know, those "forced" FPS Locks, exactly below that 144hz Refreshrate, look exactly like THAT Issue.

    Good Luck, maybe it helps.

  • @IamVeeny Yup this almost has the similar problem that I posted, still was not able to fix this. I just had to "warm up" the game for 3-5 minutes after startup and then go to a match which is pretty bad if you are going to stream different games and having to wait for the game to run with no issues is just not ideal
