Apex legends %1 is not a valid win32 application error.

I was able to play 2 weeks ago on steam client, and today I opened to try the new legend and was met with %1 is not a valid win32 application. then I tried the DX12 version to be met with this game does not work with your PC or something like it. I have a Ryzen cpu, Nvidia Grahpics card, and i'm on win 11. I tried to reinstall/validate files to no avail. Any information that you may need I may be able to provide, but I don't know where to look to begin with, so just point me to what I need to give you. The only thing I can think of is that I had a windows update about a few days ago and it's not supported by apex.
