Apex Legends Can’t Gift

Why can’t I gift at Prestige lvl 2 so I have to be Prestige lvl 50 to gift my boyfriend what is this lame function? Does this game think I’m actually below lvl 50 

@BaddieSnipez If you're trying to gift someone an item in Apex Legends, gifting is sadly disabled at this time.

If this is a problem for another EA game and/or title, which one are you having issues with?

@emperysempire That's correct, gifting is currently disabled in Apex Legends while Respawn works out a few bugs.

For some reason all of a sudden there is no option to gift. Im on PC steam, I have met all the requirements (verification turned on etc), I have been friends on the same platform for years. i used to be able to gift but now the option isn't even there anymore. I'm not sure what to do, I've linked and unlinked steam, game is updated, multiple attempts, please help
