APEX LEGENDS Constant Crashing on PS4

The title says it all really, I'm having random crashes either while selecting a hero or at the very beginning of games, every 2-3 games consistently. I'm not sure what I'd triggering the crashing, and none of my friends that I play with seem to be having this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated

PS4 Fat (Old) running software v6.20

The error code I am getting is CE-34878-0

Thanks in advance.

Hey all that error is a PS4 error to say that the software crashed

    Restart your console:

    • Turn off your console and then turn it back on.

Make sure your game software is up to date:

    • Go to the PlayStation home screen.
    • Highlight the game you're playing and press the Options button on your controller.
    • Select "Check For Update" and install any updates that are available.

Make sure your PS4's system software has the most recent update:

    • Select Settings at the top of the PlayStation home screen.
    • Choose "System Software Update" and allow any system updates to install.
    • Reboot your PlayStation 4.

    Clear your PS4's cache:

The PlayStation 4 doesn't actually have a cache to clear. That said: It never hurts to power down/power up your console if you're encountering performance issues in the console.

    1. Press and hold the PlayStation button on your controller.
    2. Select "Turn Off PS4".
    3. Let the PlayStation 4 to fully power down and wait for 10 to 20 seconds.
    4. Restart the PlayStation 4.

     Uninstall/reinstall your game:

    • So you're still having problems? OK, you maywant to think about uninstalling/reinstalling the game experiencing the error.
      • Before you do this, upload your save game to the cloud (or to a USB storage device). That way you won't lose your progress and have to start over once you've reinstalled.
      • OK, once you're ready to uninstall your game data from the console, follow this guide SCEA put together over at their official site.

    Reinstall the original hard drive:

    • This is only if you have upgraded your PS4's hard drive (read: replaced it with a larger one). Sony suggests re-installing the original hard drive that came with the console.

If none of these steps have helped, you should reach out to PlayStation Support.

  • It's not an issue on Respawns end, it's a problem with EA and their disregard towards their server issues.

First off, Respawn was bought by or is "partnered with" EA when it comes to Apex, and I guarantee that EA is the main source of the cosmetics being at scam-level prices.

For example, Titanfall 1 and 2 (Apex's predecessors) are made by Respawn, and EA holds no appearance or title in them. They have cosmetics in them which range from 2-8 dollars, all of which are purely to change the look of titans and pilots.

On to my second point. Even though Respawn was a fairly small company back then, both Titanfall games would rarely ever crash with the servers they used for them, even to this day. But once they made Apex and switched over to using EA's servers, these crashes appeared in bulk and have constantly gotten worse and worse as the game continues to grow, and it's not just because of how much more data is being sent and processed to the servers.

Onto my third point, out of all the games I've played on my PS3 and PS4, I've noticed that games EA has a hand in crash far more often than games that don't have any association with them.

This leads me to believe this: EA doesn't maintenance, update, or regulate their servers as much as they actually need to or should, because they're more worried about using the money they get to make more things people wanna buy, and more worried about buying out other companies so they can reap profits from any games those companies make after they're bought out.

  • i had this error from a month

what you beed to do is go to

Settings>Storage>Saved data>Go on Apex Legends Press the options button and delete this data. it is 3.15 mb data. This will fix at least for a day for sure or maybe more.

This will reset your ingame settings so before doing this note all your settings and setting all if them again hardly takes a minute

It’s not PS that has the problem tho because every other game runs just fine.

2 years later after season 10 update and I get the same * problem. Crash every single game. Every update there's a problem with the joke of a game. Get some proper people employed in your multi billion dollar company  absolute bunch of useless *

  • I'm afraid not. I spent about half year working on the problem with E.A. technical support and other people. Seems the as though no one knows how to permanently fix the crash. It might be some deep issue in the logic of the game and how it interacts with some PS4s. Anyhow I gave a lot of time for fixing this and finally threw in the towel and moved on. I felt so much better after moving on with my life.

@ihazbukkit This game is just badly managed. And they don't care in the slightest. Whatever, I'll just go grind CoD. Thanks for nothing, EA, and Respawn.
  • its not a error on playstations side. its EA. the game freezes not the console. i can close the app and play other games all but apex legends.
