Apex Legends couldn't initialize sound

Did you try forcing the game audio to run in a different language before this started happening?

    Same issue here.. I've done all the research I can handle the past few days, Apex will still crash after the intro sequence with error:

    Couldn't initialize sound.

    Please make sure you have a sound playback device that is enabled and properly configured.

    Failed in: MilesDriverCreate

    Miles output follows:

    Couldn't create XAudio2

    I am wildly irritated and very sad at the same time.. Apex is my main bonding time with my girlfriend ;(

      I installed Origin and used that to install Apex instead of using Steam. That worked.. hope that might help somebody else.
