Apex legends crash with SLI

I recently upgraded from using my gtx ftw 1080 to installing double gtx ftw 1070 using an SLI bridge. Now my performance in frames and rendering has vastly improved. However I have found whenever I’m using an SLI cable in Apex Legends I crash the game saying I couldn’t load a texture. This is usually right after I fly into the island. I tested this with running max settings and minimal graphics settings on my 1080 and both of my 1070s one at a time. But the problem is just that using an SLI bridge just chrashes my games. If anyone could help that would be great.

  • I have two 1080 ti running in SLI and I also crash when the game starts. I had no issues in the training mode.

I have just been running with SLI turned off until the issue is fix. These kinds of issues occur a lot with many other games when running SLI. BO4 being one of them.

  • Exact same config and exact same problem here! I am testing a x2 1070 SLI, and the game crashes as soon as the island is loaded, no matter what kind of graphics quality I set up.

But if I turn off SLI via Nvidia Control Panel, the game works just fine... It's very frustrating.

I hope Nvidia or Respawn will launch a fix soon... ☹️

  • Yes i had the same issue, i've tried a couple of things which worked for me. Change your game to power saving mode in Windows (you can do this by going to graphics settings - selecting Apex Legends - going to options and picking power saving. You could also cap your fps with RivaTuner to your desired frame rate, this will help with the crashing and should hopefully fix your issues.

The main reason for crashing for me was my GPU temperatures, this was what fixed my issues.

I also posted a video going through my settings (this will hopefully explain it in detail) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZZGgpbSHiA

Thanks! It's definitely worth a try. Anyways, since latest Nvidia update a couple of days ago, my game works when graphics are set to medium quality configs. If I go for better settings, it crashes again :/
