I'm also experiencing the same hung error, but I am using a Radeon R9 290, so this is NOT just an Nvidia issue.
Same error here with a Radeon R9 280X.
I have no idea how much that helps, but I've been getting the same error on Titanfall 2 for the last ~2 years...
For Radeon users, updating to the latest driver (specifically the one that says supports Apex Legends) fixed the problem for me. This is NOT the suggested driver, but the newest one.
