Apex Legends Crashes Immediately - Geforce RTX 3070 PC

Setup:

OS : Windows 10 Home

GPU : Nvidia GeForce RTX  3070 (8MB)

Memory : 16 GB

It is a Brand new PC.  After installing all Windows 10 updates, installed Apex Legends.  Game crashed in less than a minute.  Have installed multiple other STEAM, UbiSoft, Battle.Net games and they all run smoothly.

Things I have tried

  • Re-install 2 times after UN-installing from STEAM.
  • Close NVIDIA GeForce Experience and all other programs and launch AL.
  • Crash-diagnostic file " apex_crash.txt "  is not being created.
  • GeForce Experience --> Settings
    • Optimize for PERFORMANCE
    • Display Mode: Windowed
    • Resolution : tried multiple resolutions, say 1600x1024   ;  Default : (1920x1080)

Game crashes and PC reboots on its own.  Any suggestions on how to diagnose the problem.

  • I kept trying several techniques suggested by the community.

AL started working after this latest set of changes:

    • NVidia GeForce Experience : APEX LEGENDS : Custom Settings : Set Resolution = "800x600",  & Display Mode= Windowed
    • Ran "CLEANMGR" (Disk Cleanup) utility and chose to delete all  temporary files
    • Closed down NVIDIA EXPERIENCE & all other apps running on the system
    • STEAM : Settings : Downloads : Clear Download Cache

    AL started working.

Then went back to NVidia GeForce Experience : APEX LEGENDS : OPTIMAL Settings.  AL continued to work with no crashes anymore.

Thanks for the Forum and the wonderful Community .

  • Hey, @HamTheMighty126 make sure that all drivers for windows are up to date, also worth reinstalling the GPU drivers for your PC.

You can also try to do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with APEX and turn off any overlay programs for example Discord or Nvidia experience.

Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂
