Apex Legends on Windows for Mac

Hello!

So I have Windows 10 Bootcamp'd to my 2012 iMac, and I have played several other games with no problem with FPS. I mostly aim for 60 FPS since all iMac's are 60HZ, but on Apex Legends even with the lowest settings possible for EVERYTHING, I still don't get 60 FPS constantly and I probably get around 30-50 depending on where I am on the map. On Destiny 2 and Rainbow 6 Siege for example, I am able to get 60 FPS constantly with low to medium settings on D2 and medium to high settings on R6S. I am just wondering how I can fix this or, if this is an optimization problem, when it would be fixed?

Thanks.

  • Hey! I don't have an answer to your question but was wondering if you could help me out with something. I have bootcamp on my 2017 Macbook Pro but Apex keeps crashing whenever I play. I can't even get through the training map. Any idea why that's happening?

I have an iMac Retina with AMD R9 M380 graphics chip.  Does it crash in training right when you grab a weapon?  (grenades and health kits are fine)

Here's what happened to me, I was running Apex just fine under BootCamp, but then I had the bright idea to upgrade my driver to the latest from here:

    https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/apple-boot-camp

I went from 17.10 to 18.10 -- but that's when the crashing started.  It happens at odd moments during the game, but in training it always happens when I grab a weapon.  So I went back to 17.10, and the game is stable again.
