Apex Legends stops PC from powering off when put into hibernate

If I have launched Apex Legends and try to put my PC into hibernate Windows shuts down fine but PC stays unresponsive while powered on with lights on and fans spinning. I have to force close by pressing the power button for the PC to power off.

Happens only with Apex Legends and no other games that I've tested.

I have tried reinstalling shaders and the game on Steam. Also updated and did a clean reinstall of graphics drivers.

PC specs are:
AMD R5 7600x
AMD RX 7800 XT, Driver version 26.8.1
Windows 11

Edit:
Putting the PC into sleep works normally as well as completely shutting it down. Only hibernation causes issues.

I'm trying to put the PC into hibernation with Apex Legends fully closed. If I have launched Apex at any point during the session my PC will not power off and go into hibernation properly. I've checked that I don't have any processes related to Apex or EAC running that I have found before trying to go into hibernation.

  • Aksulisuli So you are launching Apex, putting the PC into hibernation, and then trying to shut the PC down?

Typically when a process is running on Windows, the shutdown sequence has to wait for the process to end, (especially if the process is running on the system side of things like how the EAC does).
