Is this bait or something? A fully overclocked 6600k should have no issue running a modified source-engine game. I can run Dishonored 2 (notoriously badly optimised) at 80FPS maxed out, I can run Mirror's Edge Catalyst maxed out no issues, there is absolutely no reason bar poor optimisation that I shouldn't be able to run Apex Legends
- 7 years agoIt is not the case, it was 60-70fps minimum before and 2 weeks after start dropping to 20-30fps making it unplayable, no changes to hardware done in meatime....

Razer software and other peripheral and Headset software is just pure rubbish, They will all conflict with atleast one program windows 10 has all the options needed anything else should be set via a hardware config tool if the software needs to run while you use a Headset or Keyboard or Mouse it's generic China trash $2 hardware with famous logo.

I'm running a ryzen 7 2700X with 8 cores and still have all the sames issues.
- 7 years agoThis is insane... EA this game shouldn't be so greedy. Many of us are able to run much heavier games without issues.
Find a way to reduce CPU load and a hotfix patch.
I'm on an OC i5-7600k running steady 4.6ghz and a 1080ti and getting micro stutters every minute in random places where there are no fights or enemies.
And in a place with huge fight and explosions it doesn't necessarily stutter.
Totally illogical.
Work on this issue please.
The solution must not be to upgrade CPU for 80% of the 4core processor users.- windbalance7 years agoNew Novice
yep same here i get very high cpu usage and my game is flickering and black pixels appear on my screen

I am getting brain tumors from yours, a 4 core processor has nothing to do with a high end card, sure there will be bottleneck at some point, but not in apex, its the engine that is ❤️❤️❤️❤️ :,)

After struggling with low FPS in Apex Legends, spending a lot of time researching for ideas to improve my game experience I've found one time a really interesting post when searching for an issue I was having with another application (GamingOSD). I've found that uninstalling ALL versions of Microsoft Visual C++ YEAR(s) Redistributable .... (I had installed like 6 different versions) restarting and reinstalling the latest one (just google for Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable) my FPS increased so much that I now can play, I have gained a boost of at least 30%.
Hope this helps. It helped me a lot.
