Apex Legends won't close on the EA app

@WetLiquidWater To confirm did you reinstall EAC after uninstalling it? Also, after you quit the game does it just hand in task manager?

@EA_Illium Easyanticheat will reinstall itself when logging back in on EA app when starting apex legends, yet the issue will reinstate itself when logging out of the game. Apex Legends doesn't appear on the task manager either. the only way to end it is by restarting the computer.

I have the same issue here that just started happening within the past few days.

The only recent significant changes are Windows 11 KB5020044 update and Nvidia driver 527.37.

I tried reverting to 526.98 but the problem still occurs so doesn't seem to be due to the latest driver.

This is crazy be cause I have a 13900K and logical core 1 (2nd thread on core 0) is stuck at 100% causing my fans to go nuts and temperatures to shoot up.

After exiting the game, r5apex.exe is stuck running and I can't even kill the task. I literally have to restart my PC. And of course, Steam thinks the game is still running too.

I've stopped playing this stupid game because of it.
