Apex Opening as Background Processes

@Jammydodger095 I've never seen that before. So you're not even able to open the game by switching to it, it sounds like. I would recommend what is in this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2540415565

The code may have been restricted. Or I've seen something similar if you may have a "New Desktop" open in Windows 10. It only happens if I already had the task open though, you won't see the task on your desktop, but you will see it on the "New Desktop" if you switch over to it.

this didn't work the game just remains in background processes whilst origin registers it as fully opened 

@Jammydodger095 What operating system are you using?

@Jammydodger095 I've heard of people having issues with Origin becoming a background process when doing something else. But not an actual game. It sounds like if Origin does that and you try and open a game that game will also do the same thing. If that is the case you can go to task manager and close origin there and reopen it then open the game from there. Otherwise I don't know. Never had the problem before.

I am experiencing the same problem. I encountered this early last week around 7/26/22.

I have exhausted my options, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, I have changed all the setting to launch Apex as admin, I have done a clean boot several times, I have purged my DNS, I have uninstalled steam and reinstalled, I have uninstalled origin and reinstalled. I have done this for both steam and origin versions of apex.  I have gone through the files and repaired Anti cheat, I have verified the integrity of game files several times with each reinstall I have done. I have deleted r5apex.exe and the verified the integrity to get a fresh .exe. I have deleted the entire game folders emptied recycle bin and the verified the integrity. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics drivers. I have disabled all overlays. I have attached a DXdiag.

Please help.

I am also experiencing the same issue as above, also on around 7/26/22. I have followed all advice in this thread and nothing is working. One thing that I would like to note, is that it is something with my game/computer, as I can boot up the game onto my account on a friends computer with no issues.

Have you fixed this issue? I am currently experiencing the same exact thing and have done everything.

I had this issue for ages - Apex just opening as a background task. I tried everything I could find on the internet with no luck.... but I just found a solution that fixed it for me. I have an AMD graphics card (Radeon RX570) and it was down to the AMD Adrenaline software I had installed. I had to download the AMD Cleanup Utility which uninstalled everything AMD related. Then reinstall AMD Adrenaline. Apex working again! Seems like there was something stopping AMD from updating /. working properly.
