Apex will not work on PS5

As stated, I am on PS5 and my apex will either not connect to servers or tell me I am banned. My EA account is not banned, at least my profile says I’m not. If I ever connect to the servers, its takes about 5 minutes and normally does not let me ready up. Very rarely will I be able to play a match with no issue. Once I complete the match, I have to restart the app and go through trying to restart it several times.
I have factory reset my PS5 to see if that would help and it does not. No issues on any other game. Would love some help as this has been going on for several weeks.
thank you.

  • Hey @FANTA_BOB_p0t4k,

Do you have Apex installed on the internal PS5 drive, or is it on an external drive?

If you launch it with a different PSN profile, are you still seeing the same issue?

The only other troubleshooting steps I'd be able to recommend here would be those from this page. As you mentioned already doing a factory reset, I'd primarily try the steps to restore your game licenses, though there are a few others to check if the issue continues.

Beyond that if you continue seeing the occasional message about an account ban, please get in touch with the Terms of Service team so they can check into this further.

  • Hey, thank you for the reply.
so it is on the internal hard drive. I restored the license and it did not help. I did connect to “a new wired lan” and it seemed to help some. Game is still quite slow to connect to the game. Slow to ready up in game.
I’m not sure if it’s cause I changed “connections” to my wifi even though I’m still playing on the same network and what not. For now it works and if not I will reply back to this feed or make another post. I’m in a match right now and have played 2 or 3 matches so far.

  • Also, I did try with another account and it was also having the same issue. This was last week when I tried on the second account.

Gotcha, thanks for following up! If things are looking a bit improved after swapping to a wired connection, that could be the way to go.

Wireless connections are inherently unstable and even if you're not noticing interruptions when streaming movies/music/shows, etc., certain games and even things as random as a neighbor turning on their microwave can impact that connection quality - depending on the setup.

When possible, getting a wired connection to troubleshoot through is definitely preferred.

Edit: Having the same issue on a completely separate account would definitely point more towards a connection issue of some kind, rather than a hidden ban or account action.

  • Well the weird thing is I’ve been using a wired connection the entire time. So yeah, I mean I really have no clue what it could have been. I got fiber optic and my wifi is pretty stable and all other games work. PC works fine too.
